Vrabel is stacking the defense because there just isn't much to choose from on offense.

Bargain basement WRs and maybe a starting LT if the price is right. The remaining LTs are not even close to the $20M a year bracket.

I mentioned somewhere in one of these threads to build the D in FA and O line in the draft. Pretty much what was done. I like the fact they got a RT and resigned Hooper and got a FB. I suspect the draft will look something like this

LT

WR or TE

IOL or RB RD3 (1)

RB or IOL RD3 (2)

Well done. FA isn't over yet. Maybe we see a trade or two prior to the draft? Or on draft day. NE are going to have to make a lot of cuts or not resign a handful of their FAs or just let them walk. Setting up for an exciting rest of FAs, the draft and camps.

I like what you're thinking though.

Ohh the Pats will need to trim the fat for sure. Mocking based on what I saw yesterday I suspect the draft would look something like this. This is without trades for now

LT Will Campbell LSU
Tyler Booker IOL Bama
Mason Taylor TE LSU
Kaleb Johnson RB Iowa
Jalen Royals WR Utah State
Billy Bowman S OSU
Kobe Kin LB PSU
Mello Dotson CB Kansas
Kaden Prather WR Maryland

A draft similar to this, again without trades would secure the O Line and give Maye more weapons

I'd still like to get Cam Robinson in FA if possible. But based on yesterday, I think NE would have to take Campbell, Banks or Armand Membou. Hopefully they ask Scar for his input. Because, I'm not sure who I'd take. Especially if there is a possibility of trading back and still get one of the three.

I'm still hoping we fix the Oline and can take Jeanty or Warren which is out of my character. I'm usually a build the trenches first, maybe a CB or stud LB first guy. Then go get the shiny toys. But, I think either of these two could be special. I'm thinking Gronk and Barkley kind of special. Been a long time since we've had someone who can tote the rock like that. Chance at hitting a homerun with every touch and capable 3rd down receiver as well.

Not sure about Membo, my understanding is that he played RT his entire college career and seeing as we just inked a RT yesterday LT seem the priority. Campbell IMO still seems the best option at LT at least from the draft prospective. I like the possibility of Warren I am on the edge about Jeanty, I don't like taking a RB that early when there are glaring needs on the line

Greg Bedard said the following. "Patriots were in on Metcalf until the Seahawks asked him if he would go to NE. He flat out said no and thatended that. Patriots were called by Davante Adams agent and the Patriots were not interested because his whole attitude has alway been about how many targets, routes and attention he gets. Vrabel is trying to build a team concept and Adams is not a team player."

Were the Patriots in on Tunsil? Not at the price the Texans wanted. Commanders gave up a 2nd, 3rd, 4th for the three time All Pro. According to Mike Reiss, the whole thing smells of rotting fish. Why would any team in 2025 be trading a solid All-Pro who still has two years left on a very affordable contract? What do the Texans know that no one else knows? Very steep price.

Crazy as he's never had an NFL carry.
I think what I read when we picked up was FB/TE I never looked at the stats. I could be completely wrong on this, but I do think that is what I read.

Did they sign a FB?

Yes,

Giovanni Ricci

Oh that's right forgot about that signing. Meh

But wait he's a TE?

He's never carried the ball. That gives defenses an edge. I want a true FB. Give me Kyle Juszczyk who the Niners just released.

He's sort of slated as both

Crazy as he's never had an NFL carry.

Again I could be mistaken
