Some kids take longer to develop. There are always those kids that will never get a chance. Same once a player reaches the NFL. Some have already developed. Some who were 7th round or UDFA turn out to be stars. While some 1st rounders never develop.

You don't want banter or accept that something you believe may be or could be faulted. That's okay. I just think that there are a lot of highly talented kids that get completely ignored because they don't play for a big school. Not every kid that plays for a big school may be all that quality. We're looking at a draft that actually sucks and yet, all of these schools with all of this NFL ready talent didn't have what were considered to be as good or better than past drafts.

I don't want to beat this to death either. I just believe that a 6'5" 325 LB. LT who played 48 straight games, never gave up a sack and was never injured just might be an answer for an NFL team even if he played for Vermont and not BC. Maybe the difference is that he's walking away with a completed degree in Economics and not half a degree in Sports Communication.
I am sure there are hundreds of thousands of kids that play for small high school programs where the coach is a volunteer and they lose 90% of their games because of ineptness all around. But there is probably one kid that catches everything thrown. Or never lets up a sack. Or can throw dimes all day long.
But because he is the only one playing at a high level for the past 20 years, no scouts are coming. No big college program recruiters promising him the coaching he deserves and needs. Therefore, no invite to the combine, no NFL scouts.

Go sell cell phone plans.

Listened to Tom Curran on My Slants last night. He made a lot of sense about how and why things got so allow on Day 2.

On Day 1, everyone has primed their pump and as soon as the period opened, everyone was ready, willing and able to spend money. The Patriots as well as 30 other teams missed out on several players but were able to close the door on several good deals. All to the tune of more than $250M over the next four years.

The Patriots, as well as twenty-eight other teams, did nothing yesterday because the remaining players available did not warrant Day 1 or Day 2 money. Age, injury, performance all play a role in determining who gets picked off the vine.

Curran said that the Patriots have pretty much said that everyone wants a high performance offense. BUT, having a high performance offense is useless if you have a low performance defense. It doesn't matter if you can score 30 points a game if your defense gives up 35. The Patriots got shut out of several players. Ron Stanley, Chris Godwin and Dan Moore were the three offensive players that decided to stay home or in the case of Moore hold back until someone was willing to smash their piggy bank, like the Titans.

So here we are, Day three of the Free Agency signing period and Day 1 of the 2025 NFL season. The consensus is that the Patriots will sign either Cam Robinson or Tyron Smith. Yep 34 Year old Tyron Smith. He would be the short term answer at LT and the Patriots would not feel that they must draft a LT at #4. That, and if the draft works in such a way that Abdul Carter or Travis Hunter drop to #4, the Patriots are in a perfect position to select either one or trade down and still get a top LT and an extra pick or two.

Curran also said not to be surprised if the Patriots signed OG Mehki Becton. The OL would be in place with Smith, Becton, Strange, Owenu and Moses to protect Maye and block for Stevenson. Today.....................2025 Begins.
I'm hearing we are not in on Cam Robinson.
There are concerns about him cashing the big check and "kicking back"

No. He's saying to start Strange at Center.

He had someone else saying that they should take Carter or Hunter if either falls. I sensed that he's feeling the sam as you, trade out and get the extra pick(s) and load up. My thing is not to trade out of the top 10.

Supposedly, the Rams want that #4 if either Carter or Hunter drop. The problem is that they have #21 and a third, a fourth and four sixths this year and the point total is 1000 points short of the #4 draft value. They would also have to give up their 2026 #1 and possibly #3 because they will be lower in the 2026 draft than #21.

Would anyone in here be willing to trade that #4 for #21, #90, #127, #190, #195, #201, #202 AND 2026 - 1st and 2026 - 3rd???
Would I be interested in trading a 10 (girl) for two 9's and three 8's?
I would if I was younger. Could not handle all that action now.....

Mike Giardi stated that the Ravens and Ronnie Stanley have agreed that Stanley will give them a chance to match the best offer he receives. The problem is that the Ravens have $10.5M in cap space. Then they would have to start cutting people Derrick Henry is at the bottom of the$10M+ group and next is S Marcus Williams at $8.5M. If the Patriots were able to step up and offer him $22M per for 5 years (will be a bargain by 2027) it's highly unlikely that the Ravens could or would match it.

Everything next week will be dependent on how far the Patriots are willing to go to get top of the rung players.

Oyy like we need any hint of trouble. But if someone said" Man if we landed Stanley that would change our whole scheme" Is that really tampering. But going back to what I said when BK was talking about being on the phone before legal tampering. Just don't fukcing do it.

I'm not buying into this. Breer is looking for trouble and clicks. He doesn't know anything! Nothing!
He also burned the Commanders and Chiefs.

Basically, he confirmed what every team does every year. As one commenter stated, some players have agreed to sign somewhere every year 14 and half seconds after the tampering period opens. You ain't trying if you ain't trying to cheat.

Who would be going to those games.
Been to more than a few games at the University of Maine in Orono. That's up near Bangor. We're talking snowstorms in October and more than twenty-five thousand people getting buried in 30 mph winds and temps barely breaking 20. So I guess I wasn't the only one who would be going to those games. It was only 160 mile drive one way from my house.

I have a stat that will make you smile.

The average attendance for UMaine games is somewhere near 5,500. That means for the games you attended, 20,000 were there to see you.

Meant to ask how all those people crammed into less than 8500 seats.

The stands were full and the field level was jammed with people standing down at both end zones. I thought that the stadium was bigger and assumed the number. No excuse.

Thanks for taking the time to do the research to make me look bad.

Celebrate my incorrect assumption.

Ummm No. You stated that rather definitively in an effort to defend a point you were trying to make. No back peddling now just man up and take it.
