Will Campbell's 32-7/8" arms are starting to cause him grief.

Armand Membou is the guy that he's being compared against because Membou has something like 34" or 35" arms and has great foot speed and immediate power to push to the second level . Membou's problem is that he's only 6'3".

If you love Will Campbell, then so be it. I won't get into a pissing contest over Campbell's arm length.

I have 38" arms and I can remember as a kid putting my hand on another kid's forehead and having him swing at my gut and missing by three or four inches. I also sparred for NE Light Heavyweight Pete Riccitelli and his manager said that I forced him to learn to duck and step in to deliver a shot to the ribs.

Having long arms allows a tackle to push an outside rusher further outside and can give the QB an extra one or two seconds to get the pass off. Short arms allows the defender to roll inside and take away a second or more.

Don't act like a bitch because you know how to.

No one said I love him I am posting what the people that get paid to do this for a living are saying. We all know what the long arms are for we don't need you explaining the obvious. Read the write ups on the kid and maybe you'll have a better understanding of why they are ranking him like they do.

You've been on me for about a week because of political comment I made. You're a Trump hater and now everything I write is a cheese grater on your skin. I've read a shitload of stuff about Campbell and listened to experts who make a living examining and putting out their 'opinions' about college football players. Many of them are writing and saying what I've posted. More than a few have concerns about his arm length and feel that he would be better at Guard than tackle. Because there are so few high level LTs in any given draft, Campbell is placed where he played most snaps in college. That doesn't translate to being an outstanding LT in the NFL where every edge or DE is equally as big as the LT who's trying to block him and in many cases, much quicker.

Don't act like a whiner because you think it makes you look better or calling me names makes me think any differently.

That'a an absolute lie I really haven't said shit to you since you showed you true colors. Its true I do not like Trump because I know how leaders are supposed to act, but for the most part I never respond to political comments and do not remember responding to any of your comments. If you feel compelled to talk politics and Trump take it where it belongs which is not here.

Post some of those Cambell write ups, I would love to read them. And even if he does end up moving to the inside it's not as if we don't need help across the line.

"
The belief is that his arms will be measured below 33 inches, a somewhat arbitrary but nonetheless important thresholds for teams. The Patriots and their staff led by head coach Mike Vrabel and offensive line coach Doug Marrone might end up looking the other way if the measurement indeed turns out as expected.

That said, arm length in itself might not be a dealbreaker for the Patriots as Vrabel explained on Tuesday.

“I think that arm length is good only up until the point to where you use it,” he told local media during a Q&A session at the Scouting Combine in Indianapolis. “If guys are sitting there and they’re catching or they’re clamping or their hands are outside, they’re not as long as maybe they would be if you punched.”

Vrabel knows a thing or two about offensive linemen and length. Not only did he go up against them on the regular during his active playing days as an outside linebacker, he later also coached his own players to counter whatever O-linemen were throwing at them."

Whenever my son asks me a question like that (though his are usually ridicules), I rephrase the question as "Would I rather stick an ice pick in my right eye, or stick an ice pick in my left eye"?

But to answer your question, of the two, I want the better player.
Does your son roll his eyes at you and tell you next time you're at Target to go ahead and price a sense of humor?

I learned early on when my cousins did that to me that the first punch went straight to the inside of the elbow.

They didn't do it after that.

Then when I started studying various martial arts and they all teach methods similar.

"Fumbles" needs it written into his contract that he earns veteran minimum plus a bonus tied exclusively to not fumbling. The bonus money should make him whole + 10%. Otherwise another team can gamble he'll cure it without any incentive to do so.
Cute - but neither the league nor the players assoc. would approve this.....

Yeah I read that nowhere but here..
He is usually listed as having 33" arms.
The NFL standard was typically 34" arms or greater.
That "standard" has been reduced to 33" arma. (my standard is still 34")
The entire football world is waiting for the official combine measurement!
#1 t in the draft could hinge on 1/8"

I learned to tie the opponent up and then throw a blind hook on the break.
I once ended a fight in 8 seconds with this technique.

33.5" would be ok by most.
32 7/8" will be the ulcer decision time......
I want to see 34" minimum! Less than that they can still play the position but will likely never end up as a pro bowl tackle.
See Isaiah Winn.....

They should honestly both be top 10 players in this draft. (Campbell and Membou)

That said, if you guys are taking Guard at 4 he better be Zack Martin.

I personally think Campbell will be a badass Guard. Membou should be a good Guard and probably a good Right Tackle but I see why is height might be scheme specific.

Wonder if they won't do much via the draft but do it through FA...

I am hoping for both

And to that note. if he can succeed at LT or RT and has potential to be a bad ass guard it's a win win. Personally I think people are making way to big a deal over 1" of arm length. But people are bored right now so why not stir up some conversation?

Rashawn Slater has 33" arms. Pro bowl level LT.

At the end of the day if the technique is flawless then arm length is moot. If the technique has holes then arm length is huge imo

Exactly how I feel, and what Vrabel was alluding to in the post I copied and pasted and pretty much what they are saying about Cambell. Bottom line every once in a while, you are going to get beat in thie league no matter how good you are.

I was referring to specifically when my two older cousins used to aggravate my younger cousin and I and hold at arms length with a big hand on the forehead.

But yeah. I ended a fight with a liver kick once. I didn't time it.

A line has been drawn at 33”
The problem with drawing a line is you can never justify the line.

And you have to question who drew the damn line. Look the NFL doesnt always get it right. Jamarcus Russell RD 1 Selection 1. Tom Brady RD 6 Selection 199. One fricking inch of arm length a difference will not make if the kid is as good as they think he is.
