I saw that Trent story. Kyle looked annoyed at that press conference. I'd love to get Aiyuk in here right now, but something tells me they are going to pay him and trade Deebo in the off-season.

Is it just me sty or am I the only one who thinks we are going to have the best quarterback in the division this year?

I think Hurts, then Dak, then Daniels.
The other guys are surrounded by more talent offensively, and have gained invaluable experience. Philly isn't going anywhere, but i do have reservations about Dallas and Dak.
Now, next season.....Daniels should be a headache for the division and league

Trent Williams holding out of 49ers training camp for contract reasons
I feel like we‘ve been here before with Trent Williams entering a year where he has zero guaranteed money left on his contract.

This is the same play as last time, just without a crappy owner and franchise to make him out to be the good guy (medical stuff notwithstanding, because we all know Inova Health is pretty bad)

Trent and Kirk kinda pissed me off with the way they left here. Trent lied about the helmet and Kirk lied about wanting to be here.

As I've matured I can't be mad at Trent and Kirk trying to get on the first thing smoking to get away from Dan and Bruce. It's been so long since this organization was run right. I was in high school when Cooke sold the team.

Trent is definitely about his money, but at least he deserves it. To your point, If I'm the 49ers, I'm definitely a little annoyed right now. Kyle and John are trying their best to hold this team together for one more year. They are all in and even offerd Belichick the DC job. Now Trent is holding out. I get it.

You should have kept both, instantly had a solid offense because of it and then focus the other resources on defense. Not just hindsight. Most smart football folk were saying this at the time. Just wild what happened.

Keeping Kirk would have kept us competitive, but I don't think he would have ever gotten us a championship. Not sure anyone would have under Dan. Missing Trent for sure. I'm drinking the kool aid when it comes to Jayden. Ron being terrible put us in a position to draft him.

No harm no foul in my book. Fingers crossed we have finally found our QB and can help make the NFC East the glamor division it used to be.

KC. Is much like Goff , he won’t carry you to a superbowl but he can guide a team of good players to one . I don’t care what anyone says , KC has never had a team with even a decent defense .. his career here in DC I bet the defense gave away 15 wins KC had us in position to win .

His time in Minnesota confirmed what I already thought. Very good QB, but won't make the plays when you need him too, especially when things break down and he has to go off script. Jmo.

KC has the biggest comeback in NFL history and the biggest comeback in skins history . You had to make money plays to do that

Vikings were supposedly a "qb away" when they signed him. Very good QB. Give him time and he'll slice you up. Just don't get the fanfare for a QB in his mid 30s on his third team with one playoff win.

Takes defense to win in the playoffs. Ask Tom Brady and Patrick Mahomes.

These guys have short careers and recognizing how much shorter their time in the league can be on a dysfunctional organization are the reasons why Trent and Kirk wanted out. Maximizing their earning potential has always been the first priority for every NFL player and you really can't blame them for looking out for #1.

An actual front office would have probably kept Cousins. But Bruce Allen instead decided that he’d call him Kurt, and then trade resources for Alex Smith, on top of giving him a contract that came pretty close to Cousins anyway.

If they had kept Cousins, the likelihood goes up of Williams not wanting to leave either.

i feel like we can win with what we have with better coaching . we supposedly hired a better coaching staff and FO . if we trade for a BA or higgins what is the cost 25-30 mil plus to sign them and at a minimum 2 draft pick (probably high ones )

and if they workout then what ? we look to a draft with only 4 picks to fill needs ? we gamble that our free agents all hit next year ? . why cant we simply wait , assess then address ? why am i dead set to mortgage the future to go 10-11 wins maybe and make the playoffs as a WC and maybe get a win ?

the texans didnt mortgage their future . they drafted great talent yr one , assessed what they had and needed , and kept the resources they needed to upgrade this year which the did with Diggs and Mixon . i dont think the texans fan base is bemoaning the alleged wasted year . their stafff coached up their players they had on hand and made a run year one .

we can do the same
The Texans didn't have to, they hit on their picks.

The 49ers are in trouble, and the unrest is coming from their unwillingness to pay their all-star lineup. Trent Williams is now an official holdout who's seeking an increase in salary. (Current salary is 21+M)
You mean the TW's who has 3 years left on his deal? The gull of this guy.

Wait a minute, because the "others" have more talent, they should be rated higher? A few around here say we have enough talent on offense to make Daniels look great in year 1. In my humble opinion, Daniels needs more talent around him now, in year 1. We have the assets and money to do so and hopefully Peters recognizes such and a potential WR cut comes our way. I am in no way satisfied with McLaurin, Dotson and McCaffery as our triplets at WR.
