There's a simple, old quote re: this that says..."If you're hurt, you can play, if you're injured, you can't".

Obviously, that's simplified because if you're injured, but unlikely to make it worse...it comes down to pain tolerance.

But the person you quoted pretty much nailed it...if a player playing through/with an injury is hurting the team...he needs to sit.
This. And I’ll just say every team out there has guys that will try to play injured and guys that won’t play hurt. The players know more than anyone how each and every one of their teammates is along these lines.

Yeah...I get you don't believe it even though you have not seen him try. I also get you either have a comprehension issue or simply apply it only to Deshaun. He can be medically cleared but not be able to do what he needs to do. You'd really think better of him if he didn't even try to play and just went on the IR?

look....it's cool you have an agenda based on the person being discussed and that's cool. Just know this is an agenda and nothing else. Kupp and Jefferson are missing games for the same reason as JSN, FYI.....and they are paid by the team to play.

I have an agenda against players who managed to throw a ball two weeks ago taking themselves out of a huge game yes. Especially considering the Browns have given this individual the largest guaranteed contract in NFL history.

Deshaun Watson (or any qb/leader worth a shit) does not get to be one of those players and maintain the level of respect needed to lead a super bowl level team.

If they had Jacoby still that past paragraph would be more applicable. Watching DTR checkdown all game against what is likely the best team in the NFL would be a 30 point loss minimum.

Deshaun is hurt. Not injured. He was literally throwing the ball eleven days ago.

And DeShaun doing the same because he can't throw does what?

Also, maybe I'm missing some context, but it seems like we watched Joe Burrow hurting his team despite being able to throw because he was limited on the throws he could make?

It's possible he's not "injured" as in throwing would cause more damage, but if you can't throw the ball with the same zip, you're toast.

And let's not forget he had below average velocity based on his combine numbers.

yep...and barely threw the next day after that or the rest of the week.

Would we be better off with Brissett? Absolutely, but having or not having him does not factor into how Watson feels (apparently it factors into how you think he should feel?).

Yeah, because a guy has never gotten hurt, been able to play through it and been worse the next day (which seems to have happened here). while it may rustle your jimmies, those that matter in the decision don't factor in a guy's contract.

He seems to have overcome those combine numbers but this is pretty much spot on. Being medically cleared just means he cannot make it worse.

The App St fumble late determined the game, they were going in I think.
Yep. They likely score there and then Coastal has enough time to tie it up. 985 yards of offense and I DON’T hit my over of 61.

This is a thing because his head coach told the world he was medically cleared to play but wasn’t going to play. That’s why people have drawn this conclusion. A head coach almost never does that in throwing the injured player under the bus. There’s more to this story and Stakes is likely right that he could have played.

Good for them. I'm sure shows like the Golden Bachelor are interesting to a group of people too.
The difference being it was a football game and this is a sports message board. Just go ahead and say you are a casual college football fan and that’s ok. But real fans have no problem with games on every night of the week. It’s not like both teams have not won some big games over the years.

Nah...it's a thing because of that AND people have agendas and want drama even if they have to make it up.

could he have played? Sure. But then when he plays poorly stakes is ripping him for playing when he knew he was not able to throw. stakes also complains about JSN sitting out....but will excuse Bosa and also does not seem to think Kupp or now Jefferson is a pussy for going on IR. Hell, he's even implied if watson went on IR and didn't even give it a go that would be better? Come on.

My interest is in one team (Syracuse) and the playoffs. Casual might even be overstating it.

Betting on games to make them interesting enough to watch means you have a problem.

It was a good college football game, it’s ok if you want to do something else with your time. No reason to criticize people who enjoy football, especially on a sports message board. Some might consider that less than manly.

Sure, call out someone's manhood lol. The origins of this were jokes about betting on early week college football. Enjoy your wagers.

It’s ok if you would rather watch the bachelor, not judging you.
