I mean...I get owners hate losing games but there is already a welfare system in place for the Pittsburgh and KC of the world. Make the season 156 and the playoffs a week longer.

I don't love a divisional winner getting only a best of 3 to decide its season is probably moreso the issue I have with the current setup than the divisional going 5.

I'd shorten the season or have scheduled double headers to lengthen the playoffs and keep the playoffs out of November.
The way it plays out in real life is that “division winner” is lucky to be there because they’re the tallest midget in a poor division of small market ball clubs.

I know you've been beating this drum awhile but this has only happened 3 times in the AL central where the division winner isn't one of the 3 best records since 2005.

I appreciate the argument that their comp isn't as good but every division has had Baltimore Oakland etc.

And the 09 Tigers were a big spending club that totally fell apart down the stretch.

The division today is a dumpster fire though I will grant you that.

Then it works itself out if they get in the top 2.

I have defended Watson on multiple occasions. This is indefensible. The backup is nowhere near ready, the team is looking for leadership..guys are already banged up and going out there. It's a matter of character (which is already in question) and he could've silenced some critics by sucking it up here.

Since we brought up OSU..look at Marvin...no one would've thought twice if he was out after rolling his ankle...not only did he not sit he went out in that game. As opposed to JSN who sat his entire year under very questionable circumstances.

JSN is completely underwhelming as a rookie.

It's not a one for one thing but there are moments these things shown through and show character. And clearly Marvin has it.

JSN ended up on a team that is using him at a target depth of less than 2 yards due to their existing WR corps. He's an injury away from busting out IMO.

We were supposed to have played Georgia game 2 but the SEC cancelled it because of the upcoming move. OU always plays teams.
and that makes sense....as I said, OU not a team I'd question for their OOC so had a feeling it was something like that. Guess that explains UGA, as well.

I have no issue with sitting out bowl games
Nor do I, but what about all the games Bosa missed before the bowl game?

I did say I was done replying to this but saw something that could not have been said any better.....

"There’s a big difference between playing through an injury and playing with an injury that completely erases what you need to be successful. One makes you tough and the other makes you a liability. Deshaun Watson has played through a torn ACL and traveled to a game with a collapsed lung. The keyboard tough guys feel free to let us know what you’ve overcome. If Watson, and the team for that matter, feels his throwing shoulder—the shoulder that his throwing arm is attached to, the arm he uses to throw the ball—will not physically let him throw the ball the way he needs to, then you don’t want him on the field anyway. Because. He. Can’t. Throw. That’s like saying the kicker is soft because he kicks with his right foot but won’t tough it out to kick with a high ankle sprain on his right foot. It’s not that he isn’t tough. He simply cannot perform. Let’s take a breath and remember for this season to be a success, the #Browns need Deshaun Watson as healthy as possible. If that means missing another game to continue to heal his shoulder, then so be it. Does it suck? Hell yes it sucks. Ask the Jets how much it sucks to lose Aaron Rodgers four plays into the season. How’d the Rams look when Stafford went out last season? When you suffer an injury to the most important position in sports, everyone feels it. And it sucks. We need to remember this as a fan base because, whatever your opinion on Watson, he’s the Browns quarterback for the foreseeable future. We all want the team to win, and the best chance for that to happen is with a healthy Watson under center for as many games as possible in 2023"

That's not surprising the Ohio St DL has been underwhelming all year
Teams are not scoring much on us so hard to be too critical of the DL. sacks do seem down though. The OL? Yeah...that's a concern and have to think there has to be a better option to try out.

There are many things I will overlook but being lumped in as a keyboard tough guy is not one of them. Go do your fucking job. 50 percent of Deshaun is better than 100 percent of DTR.

I've missed work like 6 times in 25 years. And I've managed to do it without sexually harassing my employees. So someone saying that kind of shit can shove that up their ass. Especially when this individual has a lot to make up for and hasn't earned the right to get a pass.

I mean, in general I don't consider you a keyboard tough guy (and the person who wrote that has obviously never come across you and was not referring to you). all you've done is proven what I suspected. You just don't like Watson and that's OK. But when it comes to him, yeah, you kind of are an internet toughguy (or warrior if you prefer)

A QB cannot do his job if he cannot throw. Is Kupp a pussy for going on the IR? Is Jefferson now a pussy for going on it this week?

I don't believe for a second Deshaun can't throw. He would not have been medically cleared otherwise.

I don't like Deshaun as a human being (obviously) but I've more than defended him in plenty of occasions. As I said this is indefensible. This is him saying he can't go. Not a team putting him on IR.

There's a simple, old quote re: this that says..."If you're hurt, you can play, if you're injured, you can't".

Obviously, that's simplified because if you're injured, but unlikely to make it worse...it comes down to pain tolerance.

But the person you quoted pretty much nailed it...if a player playing through/with an injury is hurting the team...he needs to sit.

Yeah...I get you don't believe it even though you have not seen him try. I also get you either have a comprehension issue or simply apply it only to Deshaun. He can be medically cleared but not be able to do what he needs to do. You'd really think better of him if he didn't even try to play and just went on the IR?

look....it's cool you have an agenda based on the person being discussed and that's cool. Just know this is an agenda and nothing else. Kupp and Jefferson are missing games for the same reason as JSN, FYI.....and they are paid by the team to play.

I am 100% certain if he played and played poorly the same people whining that he should play would be whining he hurt the team by playing. 100% certain.

If they had Jacoby still that past paragraph would be more applicable. Watching DTR checkdown all game against what is likely the best team in the NFL would be a 30 point loss minimum.

Deshaun is hurt. Not injured. He was literally throwing the ball eleven days ago.
