One of many incredibly stupid decisions that has killed the conference.

With 4 teams in the top 10 and 2 or 3 more in the top 25, the discussion should be about the PAC's resurgence.

I get CFB is regional but putting premier teams on at 1030 is just incredibly stupid.

When USC was really rolling in the 2000s they were front and center everywhere

Yeah, both OU and USC have work to do. OU's defense is closer to being ready than USC's and USC's offense is farther along than OU's.

Neither of those should be surprising since Venables expertise is defense and Riley's is offense.

I think that both units are better than they were last year, but not quite where they need to be to contend for an NC.

1030 games should be reserved for the cals, wash state, zona schools, and orego states of the world

The truth is if OU had a top 50 defense they would have won a couple titles recently. The problem was they were 100 and worse. If you are elite offensively you don’t have to be top 10 on defense, but you can’t suck either.

Venables is a good coach, but those are surprising

Did you see OUs final drive in a little over a minute with no timeouts? The offense is good enough. You know what’s coming don’t you? They will match OU and USC up at first chance.

Nah, OU's offense still needs some work, just like USC's defense. Neither team is ready for UGA or even Michigan. More good recruiting and a couple of good portal transfers and they'll both be contender quality. Maybe as soon as next year.

On yeah, that matchup is definitely going to happen. I could see it happening as soon as next year when the cfp expands to 12. They'll manipulate the rankings if they have to. lol

Make the adjustment based on ranking. OSU has FOUR TBD scheduled times on their schedule right now. Put your horses on at 8 at the latest. Having a game involving a top 5ish team end at 130 in the morning is absurd.

What’s wild is that OU has a national high school player of the year and no 1 rated qb behind him. It really gets interesting next year if Gabriel plays his last year of eligibility. I don’t see OU sitting Jackson Arnold another season, they can’t risk that.

People think I’m jaded, and after what we were left with in the middle of the night I should be, but I know Riley coached teams. He doesn’t let them hit in practice for fear of one of his offensive studs getting hurt. It will continue to show like it did last night.

That's another reason the PAC is dead. You have you're most storied program, ranked #9 in the country, playing a game where half the country is ready for bed, if not already asleep and the other half has to stay up until damn near midnight and has been watching football since 9 in the morning.

I love cfb as much as anyone, but that's a long day. lol

Around here the talk of the PAC goes back about 10 years when the rumors of OU and Texas coming were snuffed out by elitist thinking. Remember the Keith Jackson comments? That didn’t work out but they sure could have gotten ahead of all of this

They missed on so many things that if they handled just one correctly, it could have saved the conference. Not partnering with ESPN or Fox (or damn near any network) to run the PAC-12 Network was incredibly stupid.

Bringing in Texas and OU would have not only put the PAC on par with the SEC and B1G, it would have all but killed the Big 12. If memory serves, one of the main sticking points that killed that was the LHN.
