i love this "fix the o-line" over and over again. um hello this is what washington has on o-line. any fixing will have to be done in the 2024 offseason.
Dan was so bad it cost us one sure fire HOFer and an All-Pro.

Arizona proved yesterday Dallas can be run on. I want us to stay aggressive but you gotta ride the hot hand. Kinda feels like EB is auditioning at times.
Not sure about auditioning but far to pass happy. Young QB, has 4 NFL starts (3-1) and game plan should fit the player/personnel accordingly. Our line pass pro is suspect as everyone including EB can see. If you watch the game plan tonight of Cincinnati, the game plan is to get the ball out fast to play makers then dose of Mixon. You have to keep Darnold/others off your QB to have any kind of chance.
If you watch our offense, we run longer mid range routes causing Howell to hold the ball too long. Package that with poor pass pro you get false pressure, pressure, sacks, penalties, TO's etc.
I'm sorry but EB is the OC/AHC, he is fully responsible for the debacle of a game plan vs Buffalo. He did Howell no favors and a very poor game by Howell was the result.

As for Ron, he should be responsible for this offensive oline. Unfortunately, we have some very good defenses to face and we will see much of the same if the game plan to get your "guys" the ball quicker is not implemented, run the ball and do a better job of clock management. These coaches get paid very well also, its time to roll up your sleeves EB and get to work this week on a complimentary game plan that better helps your QB be successful throughout the game. "We have to be better", EB says all the time. That includes him.

All patterns are too long. Ball has to get out sooner. You will see a change next week. This Oline cannot sustain.
I don't disagree that the ball has to come out sooner but McLaurin, Dotson and Gibson are all averaging under 10 yards per catch. Robinson has the highest yardage by catch. How do you fix that?

Wholesale changes in the FO/HC next year

And EB has 14 games to prove he is the guy.

Better game planning I suppose.

I agree with most of what you said. I do have to kind of take exception that, most or all of this is on EB. Some of those sacks are on Howell. The floater in the flat was lucky not to be a pick six.

The pump fake interception was brutal. You pump fake and run in that situation. Those are decisions Howell made.

I do agree EB can and must do a better job of protecting Howell. We are on pace to shatter the all-time sacks allowed record. Its not sustainable. Howell won't make it 17 at this pace.

Buffalo was a tough ask for a rookie QB. I've kinda chalked it up and moved on. The Denver game was the one I wanted because I knew what was coming.

The preseason thought was ... have to beat the Cardinals, Denver could be tough ... can't beat the Bills or Eagles. So the the team is slightly ahead.

This was never supposed to be a SB team, it is a team in transition with a new owner. I am still ecstatic about the new owner and everything else is what I expected. I expect a loss next week then a CHANCE for a win or two after that.

I think 2024 is a building block .....

Right now we have a good owner who has spent millions on a shitty stadium in an effort to improve the experience. I think there is more to come.

No telling what happens this offseason.

I am not going back until Rivera is gone and the know it all and PollyAnnas calm down.

Deans influence has done a number on several posters who bought in to his non sense. It was laughable to read at times. Dean hypes up the team in the offseason and refuses to listen to reason. He gains converts sadly enough. He told me Wylie was the answer at RT because he had a great super bowl. Wylie regular season stats said otherwise. Dean rubber stamps every free agent, coach, and draft pick. It's embarrassing at this point. It's been like that for years.

I said from day 1 that the OLine was crap but was told to shut up because it was addressed and that Sam howell was a possible franchise qb with Bienemy. The board is bipolar in that when the team wins, they are going to win 12 games and when they lose, they are the worst in the NFL. You saw it yesterday.

After gripping about the bills game, the subject changed to mocking the cowboys. Again, nothing changes ever. Another topic I disagree with the posters on. Most of the folks there are good people who are wise. The few bad apples make it tough.

Spilt milk. He's gone. Transition year. 2024 off-season will tell us a lot about state of franchise
I'd say this play makes me very suspect. You have about 2 seconds to read and make play.

The blame has to go RR, EB, OL, and then Howell.

RR brings this team out completely flat weekly.

EB has to realize how bad the OL is at pass protection and take some pressure off of them and protect his QB. You need to run more and have more quick passes.

The OL is what we thought they were.

SH has to protect himself and the ball though.

I don't know about blaming this loss on RR. I disagreed when he went for it on 4th down, down 10-0. But he was aggressive last week in Denver on 4th down and it helped us.

I was not omitting blame from Howell on his mistakes, I simply did not point them all out but you are correct, Howell shoulders his blame. His coach (EB) has to put him in better situations to create opportunities to succeed. That was not the case on Sunday. Unfortunately, this was all while playing at home, in front of our fans and it was evident we were out played and out coached. McDermott is 10x the coach Rivera is.
