The Angels acquired Lucas Giolito, arguably the best pitcher on the trade market, and reliever Reynaldo Lopez from the White Sox for two top prospects after deciding they would not trade star Shohei Ohtani before he hits free agency this winter.

I suspect in a while there will be only 2 important conferences in college football, Big "Ten" and SEC, and they will be like the AFC and NFC in the pros.

I think the Big 12 will still exist, but it and the ACC won't be as strong as the B1G and the SEC.

I honestly wouldn't be surprised if the remaining PAC schools after Oregon, UW, Colorado and Either or both Arizona schools leave, absorb a couple mid-majors (BYU and someone?) and become a G5 conference.

BYU enters the big 12 this season and Colorado next. Rumors flying that Utah, ASU and AZ are soon to follow. Louisville, Cincy and UCF are also in right now.

That would only leave Wazzou, Stanford, Cal and Oregon St.

Maybe those 4 just go to G5's? I wouldn't be surprised if Stanford dropped football altogether. Maybe Cal too.

No, but there are rumblings about them and UW going to the B1G. If both schools were smart, they'd go the the Big 12...and if the Big 12 is smart, they should court Oregon and UW over Utah and the AZ schools.

Ohtani today had one of the greatest days in baseball history

Doubleheader, pitched a one-hit shutout (all 9 innings) the first game (interestingly went 0 for 5 at the plate that game) then hit 2 home runs in the second game.

Both wins...go Angels!

If the PAC can keep Oregon, Utah and UW...plus Wazzou, OSU, Stanford and Cal. That wouldn't be too bad. They could maybe pick up 2 or 3 more teams. Not sure who...(maybe SDSU, Boise and Nevada?) and still be a decent P5 conference. They obviously wouldn't be on par with SEC or B1G, but they'd be in the mix with the Big 12 and ACC.

Would help if they could keep the AZ schools too.
