And why was he looking at a greater punishment? People that have done nothing wrong don't agree to plea deals.

"not always reality"

This is reality. From 8newsnow.com outta Las Vegas.

article...

Video shows Las Vegas beating involving NFL's Alvin Kamara, 3 others

Reality maybe wasn't the best word. You don't know what a judge or jury is going to decide.

The point for Kamara was to avoid doing any jail time. This plea, assuming it's accepted by the judge, guarantees no jail time. There is no such guarantee if he goes to trial.

So we don't punish the people who actually did the deed, just the guy that let it happen? Don't like it one bit.
Which people? The ones from right now or the ones from 12 years ago?

Dan Patrick made some pretty good points about this.

He said that it may be true that Pat Fitzgerald didn't know about this but he would/could have found out if he was keeping up with what was going on with the team.

He also said that this doesn't go far enough in that, they fired the HC...but what about the assistant coaches? What did they know? What about the players who participated in the hazing? What did the AD and school President know and when did they know?

Agree with him, especially on the assistant coaches. I'd go as far as to say that the assistant coaches were more likely to know about this before the HC.

That will likely come out in the wash assuming they hire an external candidate.

Whoever the new HC is will bring in his own guys.

That scumbag D. Watson got 11 games and wasn't charged with anything.

So by the NFL rulz if you're not charged with something it's 11 games.

****Disclaimer for anyone silly/stupid enough to take what I said completely outta context. Some around here love doing that shit. Watson should have been suspended the entire season for his insane sickness. I'm not defending his actions.

So if a player takes a plea deal, basically admitting guilt, it's a lesser suspension?

Gonna be interesting to see what he gets.

Doesn’t work like that.

Every situation is different.

It isn’t just about charges. Both did pretty crappy things and both deserve lengthy suspensions.

Good luck. Nobody with options wants that job. You can’t win there. They aren’t serious about football. They just take the Big Ten’s check every year. Fitz had them punching above their weight class. NW football died.

Yep, not going to be the person that equates a bar fight with being a sexual predator.

The ones that were caught right now, unless you have a time machine or real evidence against the people from 12 years ago.
That’s unfair to me. Prosecute them all or don’t prosecute any of them. The major issue here is the culture created at NW and allowed to go on. Any kid they have the goods on now had to go through this themselves. Often the biggest asshole as a senior was the biggest target as a freshmen

Someone has to stop the cycle. 4 year death penalty for the program would wipe the slate clean.

And they have. They’re shit canning the adults in charge and now there will be greater scrutiny on the program going forward from the university.

By your previous argument, what does that change? The adults in charge weren't the ones there 12 years ago.
