I've read that the gesture was directed towards the Rangers bullpen, which I'm sure was done to avoid being taunting directly.

If he had done that at an ump he would have been tossed immediately.

I was annoyed when St. Louis had home field advantage over us in the World Series. I could understand San Francisco having it, but they should have at least added to the rule that you needed to win your division and have your league win the all star game to qualify for home field in the World Series.

a wild card team could roll thru the first few rounds of the playoffs with no home field and then suddenly have it in the World Series?
