You're all aware that Western Michigan is the Harvard of the midwest, no?

Alright then. Carry on.

I love Jones as an announcer and he certainly know hockey, but no front office experience. I think WFC held both GM and President of Hockey Operations, so the bar was set pretty low for Jones to improve the position.

I’m both surprised they kept it to former flyers, and surprised at my surprise. Really thought they’d go outside the box this time. Jokes on me I guess.
I just had the same thought, like why am I surprised by this? Thing is I like Jonesy so I just overlooked the trend I guess. Compared to other past hires in this position at least Jones has had exposure to all the teams in the league, good and bad. He should know what is working and not. I don't think Holmgren ever had that kind of exposure, except for a very brief and embarrassing stint in Hartford. Dave Scott was a corporate bozo.

Like I said I may actually be positive on this because I like Jones and I have met him more than a few times and he's a genuinely good person. I understand it is the status quo as well haha.

So the first moves the new “owner” makes and he’s having to defend them. Sad.

Las , AWAZ - our brackets are now all dead. I won with 200 pts. Las & AWAZ in at 160.

The last paragraph was my favorite.

Only choice is to prune the roster. Most moves should be geared to getting the cap in a good position by 2025 or so. Currently they have 36M of 2025-26's cap already accounted for in Couturier, Sanheim, Risto, Farabee, Deslauries, and Hayes. That's probably 40% or so of the cap assuming it goes up a little bit the next few years. That's your starting point. How much of that do you want on your books then? and how much can you add to that with the existing guys on the roster without staying handcuffed to mediocrity?

Couldn't they realistically buy any of those guys out? Except for Coots that's a lot of nothing for a lot of money.:L
