Old saying. You wanna be the best, you gotta BEAT the best. I keep saying that this scenario came up last season too. "We couldn't beat the Bills". How'd that work out last season...?

I don’t think I used the word “scared”. I’m just pointing out again how the Chiefs received a huge advantage here. They should be facing the Bengals today, who have won 3 in a row against them, and should they have won that game, they would be headed to Buffalo to play out doors in the cold and possible winter weather and snow and instead they get a neutral field game in a dome. Huge huge huge advantage they’ve been gifted.

I dunno. My take on it is the Bengals still very well have beaten the Bills. Plus there was already a rule in place in case teams couldn't finish games. The FAIR thing in my view is to simply follow the rule...

Let’s count the ways:
1. Get a much needed unearned bye week last week
2. Avoid Bengals to instead get the Jags. Bengals have won 3 in a row against the Chiefs
3. Instead of potentially having to go to Buffalo next week they instead go to Atlanta for a neutral site dome game.

The Chiefs were granted a huge advantage. It’s so crazy that an uninvolved team benefitted so much from a crazy situation in the Bengals Bills game.

That game essentially was declared a no contest. The game doesn’t exist. You can’t project a winner based on 2.5 total possessions in the first 10 minutes of a football game. Without losing a game, the Bills lost the one seed they earned by beating the Chiefs on their home field earlier in the year. I don’t think that’s “fair”. I do think it’s fair to point out the guy who thinks the decision and result are “fair” is a fan of the team who received an extraordinary benefit.

I don’t know. I think that’s overkill and mortgaging the future for one swing at a championship. Harden isn’t even technically signed for next year. If this current group doesn’t work out, Harden may not even be back in the fold next year. I don’t want to part with Maxey for that. If Maxey is leaving then I want a guy who is a true 3 and D player about 6’6’’-6’8’’ who can shoot 38%+ from 3 and be a perimeter stopper on the defensive end. That’s the piece that could take the Embiid Harden group to the next level. Short of taking this group to the next level, I don’t see the sense in dealing Maxey who is giving them great production on a cheap contract.

Harden has a player option for next season.

Agree on that. Bengals were screwed as well. That really doesn’t impact what I’ve said though about the Chiefs gaining an advantage. It’s funny. The Bills and Bengals both beat the Chiefs head to head this year and yet the Chiefs get the only bye in the AFC and the 1 seed.

Trust me, I get all that but I'll keep saying that scenario played out already last season and the Chiefs came out on top. I highly doubt anyone is all that worried about what happened in the regular season...
