At first I didn't like the idea of neutral sites for playoff games, but I could get my head around the following:

If the Bengals, Chiefs, and Bills all win this weekend. The Chiefs are 1, Bills 2, Bengals 3.

The Bengals have a gripe about the 2 seed because they didn't get to play the Bills. The Bills have a gripe about the 1 seed because they held it with a win against Cincy.

So.....

- In the event the Bills and Bengals are to meet in the playoffs, the game is played in Detroit. We know Bills fans will travel there and it's an easy trip for Bengals fan base. No weather issues (inside at least), so the game will be entertaining as hell. Burrow vs. Allen.

- In the event of Bills vs. Chiefs.... Game either in Detroit or other indoor facility (Indy or Atlanta?). Mahomes vs. Allen indoor. Also awesome.

- In the event of Bengals vs. Chiefs. Game is in KC, unless KC loses this weekend... In that case, game would be at neutral site.
I could get behind this.

Actually, of all the ideas floating around, I really like this idea. It is the least bad idea. Still fucks the poor Ravens, but the Ravens have no idea if we were going to lose to Buffalo. Personally, I think we looked like we would win. Early, but I think we looked too efficient and poor White was going to be exposed coming back from his injury in this game against Chase/Higgins/Boyd, just like he was on the first drive.

My biggest issue with going to Buffalo is the potential for poor weather. I'd love to see Allen and Burrow go at it on a night like we had this week, where they had a good chance to throw the ball around the field. The league would love a neutral site game - It certainly wouldn't change the television ratings and it could be a fun roadtrip for both fanbases.

So now you have to talk about some really uncomfortable stuff.

What do you do for Vegas and the gamblers?
Do the fans in attendance get their money back?
What do fantasy football leagues do to counteract a game that has stars all over the field?
Does the league compensate the Bengals organization for losing out on ticket sales for one of their 8 home games after playing 9 on the road if they have to refund fans? Part of that money could potentially be ear marked to help retain Higgins/Burrow with signing bonuses.
The game is simply removed - if you bet on the game, the money is refunded. If it is part of a parlay, that part of the parlay is simply removed.

Fan in attendance likely won't get their money back - kind of just how things work in the sports world.

Don't know what you do with Fantasy - but I really don't think the NFL cares much about that portion - league managers will have to figure that out.

Bengals already sold the tickets - and were paid. They lost out on nothing. I'm sure fans could sue - but they'd lose.

Problem with going to Buffalo is I think we were going to win that game and continue to expose T. White fresh off the IR like we did on the first drive. Almost every player on the Bengals opening drive that contributed was going after White. It equaled a march right down the field for a TD. It was also occurring on the second drive until tragedy.

This is why I am opposed to playing in a packed Buffalo house in that climate when we should be hosting the game. But if neither team gets home field advantage, I can live with that.

The gambling angle is easy.... No game, means no bet. Any tickets that included that game are null and void and money should be returned.

The fantasy angle is easy....Nobody cares about your fantasy football team.

Okay, that was unnecessary - But when a guy gets hurt on the first play from scrimmage or during warm-ups, nobody cares..... You just don't get any points for that player. So, you have a lot of people that didn't get points they might have needed. I imagine the only real issue is whether you count stats from the portion of the game that was played - Boyd scored. Burrow had a touchdown pass. The Bills kicker scored 3 points. Do you count or no?

Anyone waiting for a refund for the ticket cost is going to be upset - It ain't happening.

Bengals are actually refunding fans from MNF...

Kudos to them....I didn't think they would....great show of faith and understanding by the Organization.

At this point, I am 100% sure Mike Brown is actually dead - and that he's just being used as a "Weekend at Bernie's" prop - Katie and the Daughter are actually running things now...

I was shocked to see that..... And the Bengals are really losing out. That's a lot of missed revenue from a huge game. And now we might lose revenue from a playoff game being moved to Baltimore. All during a season that we need to be as "cash-rich" as possible to put the necessary funds for Burrow's guarantee in escrow. What a disaster.

I think you underestimate the family man that Mike Brown is, and how much the players typically love the old man. I know everyone says he is cheap, but he is old, he operates from a different time. Plus, to be honest, we have not lucked into a player like Joe Burrow since Kenny Anderson. That was a long time ago.

It is good to see the team respect the fans and their hard earned money. So while the fans are not getting screwed that paid to see a game, the Bengals are yet again getting screwed. The players do not get a game check either.

Nah.

I watched Brown penny pinch all through the 90's and into the '00.

What we are seeing now is an old man who is trying to buy his way into heaven....LOL

LOL. He definitely needed to get with the times, and I think his daughter and grand daughter pulled him right out of that shell. I think he feels this is his team, but he is not running anything anymore. So the girls will do what they need to do.

I never say this but I am now. Glad they lost today, now they have reasons to fire pretty much the entire coaching staff. More of a possibility Stefanski is gone now

For such a shit team the Ravens were pretty dirty today and the refs pretended to look the other way. So looking forward to next week.
