Oh stop. It's as if you guys blame the Chiefs for the current situation....

I'm just gonna say this'll all come out in the wash. Best team will win no matter the venue, right...?
You better hope not, the Bills and Bengals already beat you.

I honestly wonder if the reason we aren’t watching them play right now is that the Bills had planned on traveling home after the game last night.

Kinda wondered that myself. Then again, don't they have a home game left to prepare for...?

I didn’t say it was over.

I said the Bengals were likely to win.

I believed that before the game started. The Bengals had the lead and were playing well at home. Not a huge reach to say they were likely to win.
You’re saying more than that. You wanted to give the Bengals a win and the Bills a loss in the first post of yours that I replied to. All other aspects of this is just us disagreeing. But it’s this piece that I’ve called out as being nuts. It just spits in the face of what sports is about. As far as I know, baseball is the only major sport that has a contingency in effect for a shortened game. They demand half the game is played for it to be official and if the home team is down 5/9ths of the game. You were projecting a tangible win and loss added to the records of teams based on a projection of 1/6 of the game. You can see why I’m calling that nuts right?

No one is blaming anyone. But your team lost head to head to the two best teams in the conference and now because of outrageous chance they get propped up to the one seed? The only bye? Homefield throughout when a trip to Buffalo lurked? The Chiefs (like many teams) aren’t the same offense on the road. No one is blaming anybody but come on. The AFC was handed to you last night. If the Chiefs are the one seed they are far and away the Super Bowl favorite on circumstance.

This stuff doesn’t “come out in the wash” when you’re talking home/road in a one and done situation in the NFL playoffs. Without home field, I would handicap the Bills and the Bengals over the Chiefs as more likely to win the AFC. With the Bengals (Chiefs kryptonite) on the three line now if they see them, it will be at home. If the Chiefs were the 2 seed they see their kryptonite before a possible AFC championship road matchup.

You can see how the Chiefs were driving to work last night and a Brinks truck crashed and left them to claim a million dollars in unmarked bills right?

No…

I said I don’t think they will be able to make up the game at this point.

They can’t make up the game because of a catastrophic injury to a Bills player.

It isn’t fair to punish anybody.

However, the reality is that someone will get punished.

Just giving the Bills the 1 seed is probably the worst, and most unfair idea I have seen.

They could have tried to play tonight, but the Bills understandably went home because they weren’t in the right head space to play.

And they might not be Sunday either.

So yeah, somebody has to get screwed. I prefer it being 1 team than 2.

Making it a no contest is fine.

Still similar result. Chiefs likely to get 1 seed and can’t get worse than 2 if that is how it goes down.

Then I'll say this. Would this be the first time that a team has benefitted from shitty luck attached to someone else? I mean, you were pretty much praying to the football gods for the Raiders to beat the Chiefs this weekend to "set things right"...

The football Gods gave up on the Raiders long ago

You do realize…

That the Bengals winning that game would give Chiefs 1 seed also?

2 weeks ago the probability tracker gave the Chiefs better odds to get the 1 seed than Buffalo because the Cheifs had a much easier remaining schedule.

It sucks how this went down, but the Chiefs have had an inside track at the 1 seed ever since Buffalo lost their 3rd game.

This screws 3 teams. It takes away Bills one seed they had without losing a game. It destroys Bengals chance at getting the one or two seed with a win. Now that Bengals are a 3 seed and Ravens are locked into 6 they lost their chance to compete for division if the Bills beat the Bengals. And as I posted in a later post, the Chiefs are handed a complete gift. You also have to note that the team that is gaining the advantage lost head to head to two of the three teams getting screwed. I’m picking my side here based on what the teams have earned to this point in their season. You’re basing yours on a projection over who you think wins a game.

No, there was no inside track. The Bills had recovered from their mid season slump and were looking good. Win out and it was theirs, they were the favorite for certain.

Only if you assume the outcome of a game that wasn’t played. Bro, you know me. Do I have any fucks to give over what a computer model says about sports outcomes? Real talk. Gamblers use the best of those models to win…58-62% of the time. That is the win rate for the best sports gamblers. And they aren’t playing every game so the real win rate is lower than that.

Absolutely! That would be the sports gods setting the world right again.

Dude.

I watched the Bills quite a few times.

They have won 6 in a row, but it hasn’t always been pretty.

Offense has struggled at times.

Even against the terrible Bears they were losing at halftime before turning it on.

Bengals had won 7 strait and were emerging as a team many were picking to come out of the AFC. Winning out for Buffalo would not have come easy.
