Have to find a QB and fix the line. On a day like yesterday when the defense is banged up, that's when a franchise QB puts the team on his back and wins a shootout. We don't have that. Until we get that, it's gonna take damn near every other position unit to be perfect.
Which is why Rivera committed the cardinal sin in weakening the oline. The oline is the engine that drives an offense. They pass protect and open up the running lanes. A superior oline can mask weak qb play.

of course, there are. its not all doom and gloom.
There is some talent but we are clearly the cellar dwellers in the division.
We have the worst qb, worst coach, and worst GM.
We have the least talented roster as well.
There are some pieces yes, but the holes are more numerous than the answers at this time.
Like it or not, 2023 will be a down year as well because Rivera and his circus will be around. The big victory is getting a new owner. That is step 1 to getting the fans back and building a team correctly.

speaks volumes
I dont think this speaks volumes. I think this is a candidate for “captain obvious.” Wentz has a slow release, Scott Turner isnt very innovative (“all teams play wentz in the same way”), and TH is quicker with the ball.

TH also cant physically throw the ball farther.

Let both go and try to sign TH to a modest deal with a chance to start.

Find a starter elsewhere, ideally starting with Howell.

Disagree. The giants have the least talented roster by far, but a superior set of coaches and a league average qb.

We have the worst coaching staff, worst qb, and probably the worst GM though.

The offensive production had gotten worse every year.
We are currently 25th averaging 18 points a game.
Correct me if I am wrong but I think we averaged 20 points in 2020, and 19 points in 2021. He should have been fired last year but was given an extension?
Wasn't ready to fire Scott, but i didn't get the extension. That's Ron taking care of another Carolina guy.

Story of the season in these wins:

Bears - 3-13
Colts - 4-11-1
Texans - 2-13-1
Falcons - 6-10

They are 1-3-1 in division play

57% of their wins were against teams well below .500

I think the giants also have an incredibly smart GM who is going to start signing talented free agents and using the draft wisely.
Bottom line, if I am a Giants fan, I am very excited about the future.

I still don't understand why posters wanted to see wentz again.

I don't know where we go from here. The 2023 season will be just as bad.

Snyder probably knew he was going to sell in August but waited until later...thus making it difficult for the new owner to have a decent chance in year 1.

If I am the new owner, I try to bring in the gm day 1 if at all possible.

Did you have the Giants in the playoffs this year?

No, but I had them improving and as 3rd in the division.
I love daboll and their GM.

They will be a thorn in our side for years.
I do not see us getting out of 4th place for 2 or 3 years. We just don't have the talent or coaching.
2024 is the first year the turn around hopefully starts. It is going to be a long 2023 and 2024 I feel. Some of you think we see better than what we are.

its a good video, but there was no way they were matching Scherff offer b/c they brought in Wentz with his contract. I read the replies on Twitter and they said JP Finaly wanted RR to switch back to CW after the Ginats game. Bad coaching and bad playing are the culprits with poor QB play. Cant win like that

Ok then, they were a huge surprise this year. It's easy to complement them after the fact. Same goes for Seattle.

There were 2 groups of people
One group knew wentz was not the answer and he cost way too much. The trade itself was botched as we bid against ourselves. Wentz while physically talented does not have good decision making skills or pocket presence. Wentz unjustified salary was also problematic.

The other group of people thought wentz could be fixed and had gotten a raw deal in indy and Philly. They saw tbr big arm and thought it would be enough. They grew tired of TH substandard arm and simply wanted someone with a cannon.

Mix that in with an incompent Scott Turner and a bottom 5 OLine, it was a receipt for disaster. And that is what happened. We were lucky enough to have a weak schedule and that only got us so far. The bottom line is that the roster is worse than you think. We can fix some of that with a good draft and good free agent class. However, good coaching will remedy a lot of this as well.
I don't want to hear the names Scott Turner or carson wentz again.

Yes but most people had the giants improving due to a new GM and daboll. We cannot deny that.

I had the commanders at 7 or 8 wins due to the crappy OLine, wentz, Rivera in general and Scott Turner. Win lose or draw, I will hit 7 or 8 wins. I know we argued about this but those are the facts. The wentz trade was a disaster and hurt this team.
I think we actually get 7 wins as dallas will murder us. We will go 1-4-1 in the division.

We could have used that 2023 draft pick and the 28 million in cap that Rivera wasted. He owes the fans an apology.

yes but nobody had the giants in the playoffs. There are surprise teams in the NFL. It happens every year. Will they clean house in Denver b/c of the RW trade? I know the coach already got fired but did he pull the trigger on the RW trade or was it the front office? That trade was a lot worse than the CW one.

Dean, it all comes down to the new owner I am afraid.
We have a chance to right the ship here with the right folks.
Hopefully snyder makes the choice of his life and picks a good one. I believe it will be bezos but who knows. I don't care if it's Santa Claus as long as we build it the right way.
