Rivera has definitely made mistakes as we've all pointed out. I do like the roster more than most. Trusting the season to Norwell and Trai was a gamble that blew up in his face.

I wish I knew what number post it was but when we were all making our predictions for the season I said 7 wins and 10 if the guards hold up. They didn't. Wentz was horrible yesterday. The trade was bad, but this season was lost the minute Ron felt Norwell and Trai were answers.

Solid group of guys in that locker room and I think Ron deserves credit for that, but at the end of the day it's about wins and losses.

What happens over the next three to four months is critical. Dan could pick the next QB. Dan could give marching orders to let Payne walk. We have to get this sale completed ASAP.
I had 7 or 8 wins. I am sitting pretty...lol

I think most of us backed through Vegas prediction. Only a few had double digit wins.

Not arguing but the core group of players outside of curl where all gruden picks. McLaurin, Allen, Payne, Holcomb, etc.
I agree that Rivera is a players coach, but he is not a strategist or tactician in any way when it comes to roster building. He relies on nepotism as the key channel for foundation building, not talent evaluation and scouting.

Rivera also relies on substandard coaches. Scott Turner was in no way qualified to lead an offense. He for the job because of his dad.

As I stated previously, Rivera is going on year 4 without identifying a qb to lead his team. He has tried to do so, but has failed. His latest attempt, which was doomed from the start, is now costing the team a valuable draft pick. Wentz was never the answer and general nfl fans saw that. Only desperate commanders fans thought it might work.

The positions are all over the place.
Wr and rb corps are solid. OLine and Lb are awful. The qb room is the worst in the nfl.
The DLine is fantastic but the CB room is lacking. The safety group is set. The TE group is a massive question mark.

Bringing in the same front office crowd that got Rivera canned in Carolina was irresponsible. Bringing in players he personally knows and cutting more talented players is criminal.

Chase, AG, Dotson, Samuel, Robinson Jr., Forrest, BSJ, weren't Gruden picks, but I get your point.

Sweat was Kyle Smith

When I say gruden, I mean that regime.

Some of those players have had 1 good year so we don't know if they will pan our or not. I thought Rob Kelly would be a stud after his 1st year but I was wrong on that.

I am not sure chase is a long term fix here. I think Robinson and Forrest are. BSJ can't stay healthy. Hopefully Dotson continues to grow. Curl is the crown jewel of the Rivera draft tenure.

speaks volumes
I don't understand why some posters didn't understand this. Wentz was never the answer and should have stayed on the bench where he belonged.

Not trying to be arrogant but the results were predictable. For whatever reason, the team responds better to TH. Wentz is not a leader and many beat writers and former players have said this. His 3 INTs were some of the worst I have ever seen. You can see why he continues to go from team to team.

The comment was made that posters wanted to see wentz in there. Why?

The entire NFL came to the conclusion that he stinks...but some commanders fans were late to the party and thought Rivera could fix him.

I also agree. that I like this roster better than most. We beat the undefeated Eagles and lost late 4th qtr to Titans and Vikes. Both Giants games came down to the wire. We were competive this year excluding yesterday disaster. This team could have been a 10-win team with all the injuries, coaching mistakes, QB play, and play calling.

Its obvious that RR, Turner and both QB's are not the answer, and we played a meaningful game in January.

We could have been a 10 win team with TH.

You forgot the 49ers game which was a disaster as well as the early cowboys and eagles games. They were beat downs. Those games were not close Dean. We got lucky with the bears and falcons games as well.

You can't list the same excuses every year Dean. You said the same thing about last year minus covid. Every team has injuries, it's just part of the game.

The roster is not as good as people are making it out to be. Stay on planet earth Dean. We were never just a qb or couple of guards away. We have had 3 straight losing seasons but the roster is better?

My point is that we were in those Giants games and Minn games. We did not get blown out week in and week out. Plus, we beat an undefeated team. Sure, we got blown out by better teams. Im not denying that. Yes, we got some luck with the Bears and falcons' games. We were not that far away from a 10-win season. TH had his chance to be teh guy for 2 years now and didnt deliver. CW didnt deliver.

Fat Rob...lol. forgot about him. Chase according to PFF was ranked one in the 49ers game and ranked two yesterday. PFF isn't God, but Chase will be fine. All the guys I listed were picked after Gruden was gone.

If he can stay healthy that is.
The talent is there foe sure.
I guess it depends what type of cash he wants as well.
I don't want to pump 60% of our cap in to 4 players who all play dline.

I was always against using 4 straight first round picks on the dline while neglecting other positions.

I'm not sure Scott is here next year, new owner or not. Been a lot of chatter from reputable people that Scott might not be here.

Have to find a QB and fix the line. On a day like yesterday when the defense is banged up, that's when a franchise QB puts the team on his back and wins a shootout. We don't have that. Until we get that, it's gonna take damn near every other position unit to be perfect.

The offensive production had gotten worse every year.
We are currently 25th averaging 18 points a game.
Correct me if I am wrong but I think we averaged 20 points in 2020, and 19 points in 2021. He should have been fired last year but was given an extension?
