Sure.

Just saying we can’t assume he did something bad. He may have.

But could also be more along the Ben Simmons path.

He might have simply told the Spurs he isn’t interested in playing basketball.
He was the 12th pick in the.draft a year ago.

They picked up his option just 2 weeks ago.

Clearly, something very sudden, and serious, occurred in the last 14 days to make the Spurs take the nuclear option.

I love the fact that you are a eternal optimist who likes to give people the benefit of the doubt.

I wish I wasn't always so cynical.

But, they had other options to take to retain his rights.

They chose this.

He could just retire. And play overseas
Can you do that?

I always thought there was some written agreement between leagues.

Because, if that's the case, why does the NBA honor buyout clauses when guys want to leave the Euros for our league?

Gotta think the clippers have an idea of this

Whoever made the schedule is weird. Can someone explain why the Wolves and Spurs played 3x in a week?
Repeated first class travel, per diem and luxury hotels are a unnecessary inconvenience for those making millions to play a game.

In fairness, I'd only go to San Antonio once if I could get away with it.

I can't with those big ass rabbits that look like medium sized dogs.

Yea...if he chose mental health he'd be a fool to not go with the Ben route. The die is cast. And in that case the Spurs owe him more than likely anyway. Seems pretty likely he did something bad enough to have his deal voided.

Alright, Pepps...

I'm out to go to this Paul vs Silva farce.

I'm actually interested in seeing Laveon Bell vs Uriah Hall.

But, I might have to commit hari kari if I spend to much time amongst the YouTube Generation without the benefit of alcohol.

Someone needs to take over his twitter account.

Isnt that what PR reps are for?
Kyrie is obviously not the kind of person who will let others handle this stuff.

He, or at least the team, probably does.

I'm sure Trump had them too.

Problem is, you have to listen to them/let them do their job.

Narcissists tend to not be very good at that. lol

Absolutely.

So, why would they give up his rights if that is the case?

They are already paying him for both years.

What difference would it make to keep him on the roster, unless he was preventing them from getting another player?

Actually, that doesn't hold up either because there is a physically unable to perform list.

Yet, they chose to sever ties.

Historically, they've never been an organization that wants any kind of drama.

After what they went through with Kawhi and what the Sixers and Nets went through with Simmons...

Maybe they just want no part of all that?

for sure.

damn....LeVert and Cedi are prob. something like the Cavs 6th and 7th best guys--- not bad depth there

Celtics can came out you with so many athletic wing types- Tatum, Brown, White, Brogdon, Smart....its crazy.
I will admit when they countered our early run and went up 15 figured just not our night......we can get them here hopefully. Then they get back in it but thought when down 4-5 with a couple minutes left that could be it.

No quit in these guys and an impressive W in their place. Defense was incredible in the second half. Talk will be about Mitchell and Lavert and it is deserved but Mobley and Allen were huge.

It just blows my mind. Okoro was hot in the preseason and he can’t hit water if he fell out of a boat now. Like wide open, not a defender within 10 feet
If he does not pick it up soon he could get the Osman treatment from last year.

I will tell ya-
while Dean Wade is never gonna get a lot of publicity or credit- he has gone from an undrafted fringe roster guy, to in his 4th season being a solid decent backup player. Not that he is anything special- but he can play some D, knows his role, can shoot the 3 and stretch the D a little. He has been pretty good thus far in the front court rotation.
Honestly- only guy that has really disappointed thus far on the Cavs is Okoro. I read a bunch of places he had a good offseason and camp but it def. has not translated yet. I will give him some time since hes just 21....but if this team is going to try and really establish themselves as a strong playoff team- he is going to have to get better if he wants playing time on a consistent basis.

Cavs have some depth

PG: Garland, Rubio (when he is back),
SG: Mitchell, Osman, (Okoro)
SF: LeVert, Okoro, Wade
PF: Mobley, Love, (Wade)
C: Allen, Lopez

those are really the 11 guys they are going to go to battle with this season. Neto, Windler, Mobley, Stevens prob. wont play a whole lot if the team is healthy- though Stevens, and Neto are not gut-wrenchingly bad in limited minutes.
I remember in Game 1 I wanted Neto out about 2 minutes after he was in....but the guy has been fine in his role since. Be nice if they felt like they could playe him a few minutes more as the extended time could eventually wear on DM.....though that will change when garland returns.

Watched the game last night. Cavs looked good. Any time table on Garland's return?

It's not a disaster of a pick because the only moderately franchise changing player was Haliburton.

Some teams got some nice pieces (Bane the best at the end of the first) but no one that's going to make multiple all star appearances
Right...even if he truly does turn into a bust (and still not there yet, IMO at age 21) no realistic Cavalier fan will lament the choice as the only other player I can think of who maybe could have helped AND anyone would take at 5 was Toppin unless I'm forgetting someone. Just not the right year to drop below the top 3 (especially with a bottom 2 record).

Yeah I mean early in his 3rd year we should be seeing some resemblance of him turning the corner but he seems to be regressing
I definitely believe the Summer hype about him but so far has been a disaster this year.....thought if he could just shoot like he did last year (48 and 35%) and take a couple more shots again he'd be great for this team.

Now he could be last year's Cedi with some DNP-CDs.
