We are still eligible. Every team that doesn't make the playoffs is. The better we are the less chance we have. We had a slight chance at the first pick even when we had the 12th worst record.

No I didn't, I'm sorry to say. I've always admired his work, and - like most of us - miss listening to him and Mark Holtz. They were the best team ever!

don't totally understand the new lottery setup. can you explain how it is supposed to work?

We will finish with either the 6th or 7th worst record. If Detroit wins and we lose we move up to 6th. If not, we stay at 7th.

All teams not making the playoffs are eligible for a lottery pick. There is a sliding scale of probability with the worst team getting a higher probability of a lottery pick and then the 2nd worst team has a slightly less probability. It keeps going down from there.

The first 6 picks will be chosen by a lottery with the worst teams having a better chance as previously described. Once the first 6 picks are chosen it reverts to the reverse order by record like it was previously.

Even if the Rangers finish with the 6th worst record, they could pick as low as 12th.
