Wow... I really thought the league was gonna push for a full year. There's very little PR value here other than "we doled out more punishment than what an independent arbiter said we should." I mean, his first game back is against the Texans? And he gets a full year of vesting with the PA? Very little financial impact in light of the contract he just signed - a slap on the wrist.

Crossing my fingers that the Brown's FO has John Lynch on the phone right now. JG will need to take a pay cut to make it happen, if he's interested in going there in the first place. He may want to avoid the circus - but they are a talented team so a one-year deal with a good showing at least sets him up for a decent contract next year.

Better get on the phone quick Seattle! Deals are happening and your starting QB has COVID!!! I think we can all agree that the silver lining here is that there is finally some potential action on the JG front :-)

Wasted year of Cooper who probably gone after the season

Eh

I mean they traded a 6th rounder for him...not exactly a huge investment from that standpoint. I'd be thrilled if somehow they managed to move him but I doubt it.

I am sure they traded for him hoping to get production out of him though...sure they thought they were getting a deal.

For sure. He is here to be the number 1. We will see how he does.

Cooper was a good signing by the Browns.

He is a great route runner which will only help the #2's & 3's on the QB depth chart.

For this year he's a no Brainer. The following years gets tighter cap wise.

Brissett is throwing to him....unless they add a QB.

point I am making is he helps Brissett. Not saying he is liking where he is now, but the Browns like where he is now.

Just saw this on the halftime show. He has zero remorse.
The circus continues. I just lost the last ounce of respect I had for him. Enjoy the shit show he brings to you Cleveland.

I guarantee you that he is doing that on the advice of council. Any kind of backpedalling at this point will look like weakness. He's a scumbag, his actions speak for themselves, but this reeks of lawyers getting to him.

I agree I don't think JG wants any part of that shit show? Combined with him not wanting to be a back up. What happens if he takes that talented roster to say 8-3 then DW returns. Loses a game or two? More decisions for the FO and coach.

As mentioned all that talent built up over the past 4-5 years don't want to waste another year of missing playoffs.

The one thing that could entice JG would be the FO and owner don't mind giving out ridiculous contracts. $ talks.

Also agree Seattle needs to be in on the Jimmy G sweepstakes.
