Yeah it's both for good teams, it sucks being a fan of team in the East especially since the Cavs were looking good and Nets stumbling. This sucks
Settle down chief. I get the excitement but the Cavs weren’t winning anything this year. 2-3 years from now? Different story.

Last I checked these teams will probably be together for the next 2-3 years...could be just two for Harden. Realistically, playoff experience is the goal but then you have MIL who isn't going anywhere anytime soon. The East is ridiculous

When did I say that Curry was a throw away?

You said that Curry was a "vital" player to have. You said that Curry is a better "floor spacer" which is kinda absurd. Being an effective 3 point shooter that can't create his own shot doesn't make you an elite floor spacer. Being a ball handler that has elite vision that can hit a pull up 3 or distribute from anywhere on the court is what makes you an effective floor spacer.

Curry is a 10 year vet who was pretty much always a bench player that was able to be more effective when player with an MVP level player. But catch and shoot role players are not exactly rare.

I would have preferred to keep Curry. But, truth be told, I was on the fence on whether to deal Curry or Green. Because I know Green is a willing shooter. The Sixers were 28th in 3 point attempts this year. 28th.

Now you're just arguing semantics of wording. That's @dtgold88 job, stop stealing his role around here, lol.

You said Curry was no pivotal to the success. Mean that he was unnecessary. I.E. he is a throw away as a non essential piece to the team.

I don't know how you managed to turn this into a Seth Curry vs Harden trade, but somehow you did. Congrats. The mental gymnastics on that alone is impressive.

Spot up shooters are significantly better when paired with superstar level talent. Curry's role on the team would have been further impacted, in a positive way, for your team. You don't think the quality open 3's you said he only takes would become more prevalent given Harden on the court at the same time?

Wheeeewwwww.....

Most seasons I'd agree I doubt the cavs are a first round exit but who knows this season with how 1-6 are so bundled together (with 7 not too far back). Almost seems likely we could face Miami, Nets, Philly or Bucks in round 1...even if we get Toronto or Boston that is no sure out with their experience.

Yeah that's why I said I doubted it, but still even if that were the case, experience is what you want.

I don't know about that. I posted earlier that I think that, at this point, unless there's a miracle trade offer...they may be best served to just stick with Westbrook through this season and next and just see if they can stay healthy long enough to figure things out with LBJ, AD and RW. If not, Lebron and Russ are $91 million in cap space (plus any smaller expiring deals) to use to rebuild around AD who will only be 30.

To add on to this...it is the silver lining in the cloud of RW's contract that both his and Lebron's deals expire at the same time. Regardless of what else has happened or does happen, the plan has been to have significant cap space to rebuild around AD when Lebron's contract expires.

So far, that plan is still available to them.

I’ll be a Kool Aid drinking Sixers fan with delusional level buy in by tomorrow morning (or sooner if Morey can get some shooting before 3 pm) but I need this catharsis right now. Morey blinked and I’ll go to my grave believing he didn’t have to. I think the Nets were going to deal Harden regardless. Simmons alone improved their roster but giving them Curry and solid 5 and two picks that allows them to go out and get more just hooked it up for Brooklyn. And I’ll be real. I have never hated a Philly athlete to the level I hate Ben Simmons and I seriously think this son of a bitch gets a ring now.
That last bit is what's really bothering you.

I was pretty disgusted with the way Ben went about things.

Using mental health to get paid while you forced a trade is despicable.

I said from the begging, he is weak minded and can't take the pressure.

But, he's lying about not being able to play because of it.

All the bleeding hearts that said " You don't know, treat it like it's real " can continue to kiss my ass.

He's a liar.

So, I don't want to see him walk into a ring either.

I'm personally hoping the Warriors do a minor move like trading Damion Lee, JTA or Beli for an open roster spot. Then hopefully Tristan Thompson becomes a buyout candidate as a backup big. Warriors could use some size later on as a precaution.

Good news for the sixers they got rid of a whiny bitch whose attitude causes issues. Bad news is they added that all over again, only it is older now.

My wish for Ben Simmons is a kidney stone the size of a golf ball and every load of laundry producing an odd number of socks

Lee?

He's a Curry.

Maybe if Doc Rivers was your GM.
