Devin Vassell. They are within striking distance of a play-in spot and Pop is not a coach that will go in full-blown tank mode.

He has done it before….

He's not a rookie HC anymore and there's no Duncan awaiting in the lottery...

White, Vassell, Primo, Thad, a future first, and a future second

Don't like any of them. Malik Beasley's contract is a hell-no. GS one maybe, but I'm still not thrilled about it. I'd rather just keep Turner if those are the best options.

I'll write more about Culver later...
I think Bouknight would be a very good get for the long term.

Charlotte is going to need to throw in a first rounder.

Turner is the Pacers longest-tenured player and there is no pressing need to move him. He did not ask for a trade. If he stays there's always a chance albeit slight that he'll have his jersey retired here.

I get that sometimes teams retire numbers for reasons beyond basketball.

But cmon man.

Turner averages 12 and 7 for his career and has never won a playoff series.

And you are talking about retiring his number?

Man, the standards are low in Indiana

Actually?

No he really isn’t.

Haslam has been in Miami for like 20 years and was an important culture setter on a team that won 2 titles and got to 4 straight Finals.

If Turner is still on the Pacers roster in 2035 then we can talk about it.

He was a role player on three title teams but that's not the point. Turner has a chance to win DPOY one day if the Pacers ever produce a decent record.

It's all a petty debate, anyway. Pritchard is not going to trade Turner just for the sake of trading him. In spite of their losing record, the Pacers still have a positive net rating on both sides of the ball this season.

Ilgauskas?

Far from implied that it's going to happen, but he's just as deserving as the two guys just mentioned.
2-time AS. 12 years in CLE. Prime 17 and 9. A little different would say. He was a Cav lifer other than that bs stint in Miami

He did say slight chance to be fair. Defensive stalwarts are always looked back upon fondly.

Turner is a nice piece though

hes only 25. A very good defender and a solid player with a good head on his shoulders. He could be a very solid get for someone.

Turner is a guy that could make a big difference to a team that needs a big man that can defend. He should get them something good if they move him.

No doubt.

That is why I suggested the Warriors consider trading Wiseman for him.

But retired jersey?

Cmon now.

He is not anywhere in the ballpark of having done anything to warrant that.

No one said it’s going to happen, but if he plays seven more years with the Pacers and wins a DPOY in the process - It would need to be considered. That would bring him up to 14 seasons with the Pacers.

By comparison, Jermaine O’Neal has yet to have his number retired in spite of campaigning from fans. The reason for his omission more likely than not is lack of service time. Though he made six all-star appearances with the Pacers, he only spent eight seasons here and many of them were injury-riddled.
