Watching a bunch of Bond movies to see what I've been missing. Dr No, Thunderball, Octopussy, World is Not Enough, Tomorrow Never Dies, and Die Another Day.

Die Another Day is too funny. I've seen it being called the worst but it merely tries too hard. I guess I shouldn't be laughing at the dialogue or premise so much but it's decent junk food.

Tomorrow Never Dies is a good Bond movie with bad action scenes. Lots of them. It's kinda disappointing but I'd still watch it again.

World is Not Enough is a bad movie. Imo the worst Bond I've seen. Or maybe that's just Denise Richards weighing it down.

Dr No is slow but good. Thunderball is solid.

Octopussy confuses the idea of being weird with being entertaining. It almost feels like a video game movie and that's not a compliment.

My daughter is paying for Disney + and she gave me access.

So I've been watching Marvel in order, in sweet 4K.

I have shied away from superheros, but I'm on a roll now.

Release order or chronological order?

I did a chronological order rewatch a year or so back. Ultron is much better than it’s reputation would dictate.

There are several "orders" or "cinematic universes" on offer.

The one I'm watching seems to be in chronological order with the characters.

I'm quite enjoying it. Really good casts as well.

If you are doing first watch, chronological is probably best.

If you are watching through Disney+, unfortunately you dont get the Hulk movie or either of the Spider-Man movies. But missing 3 out of 26(?) is alright.

MCU as a whole is a pretty darn good watch. Winter Soldier is still one of my favorite action movies.

Also saw The Man with the Golden Gun. Really good overall premise. Good villain, location, bond girl. The final act of the movie is just Mystery Science Theater level of WTF just happened?!? I could kill you whenever, but what fun would that be? Lets duel. I only need 1 shot. 10 paces...and...ima outta here. The action scene at the end on the boat seems like its straight out of Austin Powers. Its a terrible but also entertaining movie.

That was the one with Herve Villecheve, right?

That one was a bit… off. Bond dealing with a single, eccentric assassin just didn’t seem to fit the rest of the movies.
Yeah, I would say its in the running for worst Bond film Ive seen but...again...still some entertaining things there. Not something Id watch again. I'd also say as a whole I'm not a Roger Moore fan. Connery > Craig > Brosnon > Moore from what I've seen.

I think I dislike Ultron more everytime I watch it.

My favorite Bond flick starred the only 1-hit wonder of the bunch, Lazenby. And he even broke the 4th wall, which no other Bond did, iirc.

Still on my list of movies I need to watch.

As far as Ultron is concerned, I find myself liking Vision in that movie the more time passes and I dont like Quicksilver in that movie the more time passes. Its bad when those mediocre Xmen movies run circles around the MCU's interpretation of Quicksilver.

Part of the MCUs issue is that movies like Age of Ultron and Civil War have inappropriate titles that make those movies seem more epic than they are.

I'm probably OK missing those, can probably find them elsewhere if I feel the need and the price is right.

Are they on Prime? I get that free too from my daughter.

They aren’t “free” on any of the services as far as I know. At least they weren’t when I was doing my marathon.

I like Ultron because it really is the linchpin movie for EVERYTHING that happens in every movie after. It is the cause of the Sakovian Accords, which is the source of Civil War. Wanda plants the seeds that lead to all of Stark’s issues moving forward. It introduces Claw, who has a big part in all the Black Panther-related stuff.

Free for me then. Which is all I care about in this case.

Would those missing ones be on Prime? Or would my search take me elsewhere?
