He was bad. I didn't want to make excuses for him and it looks like he doesn't either, I like that. It's wasn't just his accuracy anyway, it was his decision-making last game.

Okay got it all figured out. A torn labrum is a legit injury for every QB except Mayfield. Did I do that right? Still not the biggest fan of his. But at least now his terrible performance last weekend makes sense. That had to be the worst game of his career.

I'm going with excuse there :noidea:

Good idea. And if any Cowboys get injured this year the injury will be completely fraudulent. That makes as much sense as saying a torn labrum is an "excuse".

Meh, it’s just how it goes. Back half of last year when he was playing like a top 6 QB people would say he was a franchise QB, he has a bad game and now he sucks and can be replaced.
That clip of Bart Scott is kinda stupid honestly…95% of QB’s would be without a job if Rodgers replaced them. If it was that easy the Browns wouldn’t have been searching for a QB for 25 years. Nothing has changed with Baker except he has more than just a minor injury and he had one bad game. The world isn’t ending…even though some may believe so lol

Fun fact for you, just bc a QB is right handed doesn’t mean he only uses his arm to throw LOL that comment was dumb on your part. Tons of different injuries can screw up mechanics, etc.

Left Shoulder. Didn't OBJ say he's been playing with it for a decade and he needs both shoulders.

It all depends on the type and severity I would think. Some torn labrums aren't the most painful of injuries and don't hurt all the time. For me mostly when I threw a lot, played golf, lift a gallon of milk in front of me to put in fridge, sometimes while sleeping, etc. Not a horrible injury. Now admittedly I'm not an NFL QB.

I didn't see the Bart Scott thing. Again, torn labrum and if not severe and not in his throwing shoulder not necessarily a horrible injury. Let's see if he gets surgery at some point. Could be really bad, but also, might not be. Rest alone helps sometimes

What I bolded is not the same as what NFL qb's go through week in and week out. I don't wanna sound like I'm defending Mayfield, because that's where this could be heading. I'm not much of a fan of his. All I'm saying is a torn labrum to me seems like a legit injury.

Do you think his current injury to his non throwing arm has no effect on his mechanics?

Seems like you're saying all injuries no matter what are total bullshit. So you willing to say Dak's injury last year was BS?

I don't think we know. It depends how severe and what happened. I think it is absolutely possible that it has zero, stressing again, zero effect and it is also possible that it does have an effect. My point is that it doesn't necessarily have an effect for a QB throwing because it is the left shoulder. You are talking about throwing mechanics. If it was the right shoulder he could still possibly play through it with no impact (would be much harder of course) if it wasn't that bad but that would of course be a much bigger issue. Kittle has had a torn labrum for a few years and plays through it if the OBJ example wasn't enough for you from an NFL player perspective. What you are missing with my point is that a torn labrum doesn't necessarily always hurt. Now think of holding a gallon of milk out in front of you and lifting it straight up putting pressure on your shoulder. Not next to your chest but out in front of you. If you have ever had a shoulder problem you would understand what this means. Sometimes (like mine) it hurts when you agitate it and only when you agitate it even though the pain can be extremely sharp. You can pretend laugh all you want but I'm not sure you are too familiar with the injury.

But Browns still won. That’s what counts. That really was a shitty game for Baker, but QBs don’t always play pretty.

I was just really surprised by his numbers last Sunday. Didn't find out until a few days later what was wrong with him.

Watched the game and it was painful, he missed almost every throw downfield, was way off.

I think that injury to his left shoulder effects his mechanics. Feel free to disagree.

I think the effect definitely wouldn’t be zero. It has to have some impact on him. If not his mechanics than his mental state and preparation.

Injured players tend to brace for contact, so that alone would impact his play if he is bailing out on throws under duress.

It could be that the injury has very little impact, but I have a hard time imagining it has none.
