Agreed and that would depend on him. Performance wise he hasn’t done much to impress me and I don’t know what other teams and scouts think of him

Even if he numbers were in the shitter, the fact that JD had to include him in a deal that already included Gibson and Kennedy to land Spencer Howard is an abysmal failure. And I'm the biggest JD apologist on this board.

I think we only have 5 spots in the rotation and Hearn, Allard & Dunning are pretty much set in 3 spots and Arihara (unless traded in the off-season) will probably be in a spot so unless you can figure on how to fit Alexy, Otto, Winn, Latz etc into that one spot some of them will either be in the pen ready to step in if a spot opens or at AAA

I haven't read or seen a single thing since this trade that suggests to me Howard will be a successful starter.
