I haven't read or seen a single thing since this trade that suggests to me Howard will be a successful starter.

My info was at the time of the trade. Hey. I am on the fence and I was a huge Crouse fan due to his tenacity. It did concern me his velocity went down. So far he has not had a successful transition

JD said he was decision maker at the deadline this year.

I have to admit, I have rose-colored glasses when it comes to Prince. I wanted the Rangers to sign him when he was a FA, and I was happy to have him here.

Well. Despite the lack of medical examination (rarely done then) and the dispute over diminishing bat speed. I was not against either as it out Profar at second base.
But in retrospect it was a bad trade
That being said I did advocate going after Abreu which they did a hard pass on despite obvious need for LH bat

Abreu was another miss, big-time. Dude would have absolutely raked here.

The thought was Howard profiles as a starter and Crouse no longer did. His high velocity had gone down but funny he was becoming a little more wily.
Time will tell if the Rangers can fix Howard
It looks like they really wanted Howard and Crouse had to be included right or wrong

And I haven't read anything that says Crouse was destined to be a reliever. I know one thing though. A guy who cannot throw any deeper into a game than Howard can, is already a reliever.
