could justify anything from 6-15 I think. My guess is 8-9.

I'd kick 'em the fuck outta the top 25. Make focus more. This team will go as far as the D takes them. I wouldn't be surprised if they lose again in the regular season.

Yeah the 4th down plays didn't help things. Oh well. They take care of business the rest of the way and things will be good. But I don't see that happening.
Who's going to beat them? Clearly, they're the best talent in their league.

Knowing the outcome that might be better. You likely missed the wide open Wilson that Stroud missed down a TD. Well, I guess now you know. Sorry.

I'll see the highlights at some point today.

Holy shit. Forgot they only had 1 loss the year they lost to Purdue. So much for the committee favoring OSU.

It was Ohio St or Oklahoma. One of the blue bloods was going to be left out.

I don't think SEC gets 2 in over a 1-loss P5 CCG winner. Possible, though, sure, if close loss in SECCG.
Bama and Georgia don't play each other, so both could go undefeated, or the team with 1 loss could win the title game. Either result could see both teams ending the season in the Top 4. I actually think the 2nd scenario gives the SEC the better chance of getting both teams in. Say a 1 loss #5 ranked Bama beating a #1 undefeated Georgia 34-33 in the CCG would see both teams getting into the playoff.

If an undefeated #2 Georgia loses to an undefeated #1 Bama in the CCG, I could see them dropping down to #5 as they may not have many signature wins on their resume unless Clemson goes without losing another game.

But if an undefeated #2 Georgia beats an undefeated #1 Bama in the CCG, and the game is a close game, it will be tougher to drop Bama out of the Top 4. Not saying it couldn't happen, but it would need tOSU to go undefeated with big wins over highly ranked B1G teams and/or a Pac team to go undefeated and a Big 12 team to go undefeated, and possibly an ACC team going undefeated to do it.

But seasons where 3 non SEC teams clearly establish themselves as clearly more worthy than the SEC CCG loser with only 1 loss do not happen very often.

Yep...and they did not favor OSU. Pretty sure OSU gets in that year had they lost to this Oregon team and not blown out by Purdue.

I think we'll get in if we win out. But it's not a lock (that we win out nor get in if we do). Oregon can now almost be assured of getting in if they win PAC even if they drop one.

No doubt it could happen. OSU would likely match their quality loss, though and, in the situation we are discussing, would have a CCG win. This assumes Oregon wins the PAC, too.

What has tOSU done this season that makes them CLEARLY the best in their league?

Their huge win over Minnesota? Minnesota barely got by Miami of Ohio today.
This is fair. No clue how OSU might fare against the top teams in the BIG. Think we'd move the ball on whoever it is, but could we stop them?

Did Purdue end up ranked? I don't think they were. I'd hope Oregon remains in the Top Ten. May not happen if tOSU struggles and makes Oregon's win look less impressive and/or Oregon loses going forward. But could Oregon fall all the way out of the Top 25? I seriously doubt that, lol.

Part of the issue with preseason polling is people were factoring in a loss to OSU and rating Oregon based on that.

I don't think that's the case. Just haven't doen enough to warrant being in the top 4-5 without showing something on the field. Now they have and should move up pretty high. Hell, those who vote based solely on what a team has done so far this year should have them no worse than 3.

Hey, I didn't like saying that. I figured we'd roll all over Miami of Ohio but they were driving to tie the game when we got a crucial turnover. I am hoping we are just struggling only because it's the first game after losing Ibrahim and that we'll improve down the line, but who knows? Sucks to have to rip on my own team, but Miami of Ohio? Ouch.
