One of my all time favorite plays from a USC game.
Yeah, I knew he fast, but didn't know RP had those kinda wheels. I know UCLA was happy to keep SC from scoring any points on that drive, but dude getting chased though by Peete had to be a huge let down. The UCLA fans were going crazy at first when he picked it, but as RP closed on him the cheers kinda died with each step. And when RP caught him it was SC fans who were celebrating. Crazy shift of emotions on that play.

Half the reason to root for Notre Dame is people like OP exist that get unhinged by their existence as a Catholic University.
I could care less if they are Catholic or not. Catholic is better, imo, than secular.

My issue with Notre Dame is not just because their "claim" to be Catholic, it's that they ARE NOT.

I hear it's a fine school. Big time college sports are a joke, though.. ND or whatever college sports "power" you want to name. For those who attended a school and want to follow their alma mater I can see it. But aside from that, not really. Real football, for example, is played on Sundays.

I can prove you wrong about that. First there is the obvious, the Bible claims God inspired all the words to be written. Second, internal evidence proves it couldn't have been written by ancient man.
See the Bible says it was written by God so that proves it. Just like when I write about my night of bliss with Gal Gadot.

No, I only mention that the Bible claims God inspired it's writing to make the point that it's one of the two things, either it WAS inspired by The Almighty, OR it is a BIG FAT LIE.

1/4th? lol. My Gophers are probably 3/4th of Notre Dame IN FOOTBALL, and MORE THAN all but probably 15-20 others IN FOOTBALL.

You "know" which way YOU foolishly think the odds favor.

Archeology, science, MATH, common sense all give weight to the Bible being TRUTH and inspired by The Almighty.

of course I hate ND, they're a bunch of cheating pricks that like the smell of their own farts. Most ND fans never attended the school but simply root for them because they get preferential treatment in the NCAA and people want to root for the Irish or for Catholics. I prefer fanbases that have a connection to the team somehow rather than liking a mascot or wanting to root for a trendy team.

But to claim ND cannot be a Catholic school because they don't ban Muslims is dumb as fuck.
Do you believe the majority of Alabama, Georgia, Florida, Texas, Oklahoma, Wisconsin, Illinois , Michigan, Ohio State, Penn State, Tennessee, LSU, etc. fans actually attended those schools? Mississippi and Mississippi State maybe, but that is not saying much.

short answer, for most of those schools, yes. In states where there are no professional teams, fandom for college teams tend to get worse, and being an in-state fan of a college isn't nearly as bad as it is the "home team" but how many ND fans even know what state ND is located in??

OP wishes his Gophers had a 1/4 of the CFB history N.D. has.
No college in the country has produced as many NFL All-Decade Team members as the Gophers.
No college in the country has produced as many NFL high point scorers as the Gophers.
Only half a dozen or so schools have produced more NFL HOF players/coaches as the University of Minnesota.
Only a dozen or so school have produced more cfb HOF players/coaches as the University of Minnesota.

UMn can make a good argument that it's more of a Cradle of Coaches than Miami of Ohio. UMn's produced double figure NFL coaches, and half a dozen Hall of Fame cfb coaches.

Billingsley ranks UMn among the Top 20 cfb programs of ALL-TIME.

UMn ranks Top 5-10 in the # of Natl Titles in cfb, depending on the source.

UMn produced the VERY FIRST PRO Fb player EVER.

UMn invented cheerleading.

UMn produced the first black fb player in the B1G conf.
UMn produced the first black Pro fb player EVER.
UMn produced the first black All-American at QB.

UMn ranks Top 5-10 in Outland Trophy winners.

UMn produced the FIRST player to win AA at two different positions in the same season and he got the Defensive POY Award named after him.

UMn fb has produced MULTIPLE World Wrestling Heavyweight Champions of the world.

Keep in mind this guy's idea of archaeology is believing that people lived for centuries because of Mesopotamian myths.

the bottom line is that you are clearly obsessed with Notre Dame. And honestly, for that, we thank you. People like you are what makes being a Notre Dame fan fun. Trust me, no one hates Minnesota, there is no reason to, they don’t mean anything to anyone (outside of Minnesota). So keep hating, we love it. But I have to say that I’ve never heard anyone’s complaint being that Notre Dame isn’t Catholic. Usually they hate us because Notre Dame is Catholic.

You think Minnesota football historically is on the same level as ND? Funny stuff. Holy shit, you truly are crazy.

Rockne, Leahy, Paresghain, Devine, Holtz. All HOFers. How many HOF football coaches does Minnesota have? And keep it football only. How many Heisman winners do they have? How many national championships? How many all american's? The last time your Gophers won it all was 1960. Loosen your custom homer helmet. It's cutting off the circulation to your brain.

Reading comprehension maybe? You should try it. What part of 3/4ths don't you understand?

You claimed UMn would be lucky to claim 1/4th the cfb history ND can claim. I responded by saying that you are WAY wrong, because UMn could claim at least 3/4ths of the history that ND can claim.

In several ways, ND can claim to be #1, in most ways it can claim to be Top 5. I can acknowledge that.

But you list off 5 coaches and tell me that they are all HOFers as if that is supposed to impress me or something?

So by your math, with UMn only being able to claim 1/4th what ND can claim, that would be 1 or 2 HOF coaches at the most, right?

Well, UMn's had Henry Williams, a HOFer, the Fighting Irish won at least THREE Natl Title trophies that bore Henry William's name!!!

Then we had Bernie Bierman, Fritz Crisler coached at Minnesota before Murray Williamson. Holtz also coached at Minnesota. That's 4-5 and I know that I'm leaving at least one off the list. And UMn produced Hall of Famers like Gil Dobie, owner of the LONGEST UNBEATEN STREAK in cfb history, and Bud Wilkinson, owner of the LONGEST WINNING STREAK in cfb history, and Biggie Munn, another HOFer, Ossie Solem was a Helms AF HOFer, and Clark Shaughnessy was another cfb HOFer who got nominated for the NFL HOF as well, 3 separate times.

Dude, I'm not taking anything away from ND fb, unlike you, who are not willing to give the Gophers their due.
