Its starting to look that way but I hope not, guy is brittle bitch squared. Only last 6 Q's here and Bill wanted to give him 25 mill a year
yep....i think hes super flawed tbh, you would be way better off without him. Ive seen tons of metrics on him...not good. His awareness ratings have gotten significantly worse yearly

I like Jones a lot so I could be a semi-homer here. I think New England takes him at 15
Pretty much the perfect spot for him. He needs a coach that fits him into his system and no create a system around him.

Wilson and Fields will depend on which team is picking.

Wilson is a better fit for what the Jets will want to do on offense and Fields is a better fit for more college friendly offenses.

Feels like Jones fit is a team that leans towards winning with defense and wanting their QB to lean towards being game manager than game changer. Don't turn the ball over, make smart throws, and just keep the chains moving and the clock ticking.

Lance is hard to gauge as all it takes is one team to fall in love with him and think he could be the next Mahomes. But I think his resume will scare most teams off and he could slide into the late 1st to a team that can take their time to develop him.

The thing is with Lance and all of these guys is they are all talented but so many fail because the hardest thing for a team to evaluate is if they are elite in processing information quickly and making the correct and quick decision. And for a lot of them it's hard to tell how they are going to respond to pressure in the pocket because they just don't see it all that much.

Probably all of these guys if you took them to the whiteboard and asked them what's the correct decision to make in this situation they would be able to answer it with flying colors. Now show them the same thing but stick a gun to their head and tell them they have 3 seconds to make the right decision than probably not everybody is going to answer correctly.

Every week these guys are going to see defenses better than the best defense they saw in college (in some cases way better), windows to throw in are going to be tighter, you're going to see way more pressure, and everything is going to be far more complex in terms of the offense you're running and the defenses you're seeing.

Yeah tbh Lance is all about hype...I would think higher ceiling if he does work out but Jones has more of a chance to be at least average or solid. Maybe Lance is another Jordan Love, nothing from that film impresses me a ton though. No way would I risk taking him over Wilson OR Fields

Can't we say that about Jones as well? I mean he is super hyped but he played at Alabama where are you had to do was be capable of throwing the ball within 5 yards of receiver and you'd stack up the yards!

Absolutely, I think Jones is going to be a bust. Wouldn’t be surprised it he went late 1st or if he fell out of the 1st. I think their are 3 top QB’s and then a drop off

Most Alabama QBs have been busts, correct?

IF he drops I still don't think BB will take him

The interesting thing about this is that we kinda know Fields has some issues processing because its out there. We haven't seen enough of Lance to know if its a thing or not. Which QB is scarier? Not sure.

If Fields busts it probably won't look like Dwayne Haskins where he flops out of the league quickly. It'll probably look like Daunte Culpepper where he'll look like a stud for a few years and then eventually fade if he doesn't learn the game well enough to be a franchise guy. If Fields succeeds then it probably looks a lot like Dak Prescott except maybe even slightly better.

If Lance busts, he could absolutely bust as quickly as Dwayne Haskins because Haskins never really had to throw in tight windows or really throw deep all that much in college IIRC while Lance was mostly throwing to wide open guys in college. So in a way, Lance is the riskiest QB of the bunch. If Lance is put in a simple run first system like you see with SF and Tennessee then I think he could start right away, though. Lance has all of the tools.

Agree...I think there is still a place in the NFL for a QB with excellent accuracy. and poise.....time will tell this tale

I bet all 6 guys get drafted in the first because teams and GMs are desperate for a QB and they don't do their homework to see if the kid is a good fit or what their teams actual needs are. And subsequently, at least 4 of the 6 bust because they get put into a situation they are woefully unprepared for.

I agree. Mostly. But i wanna see more than one game against the yearly disappointing georgia.

mediocrity or adequate is not my shot when going for a qb in the top 2 rounds. I agree with the points, just didnt see enough. Unfortunately pre draft is gonna stink this year.
Not hearing anybody talk about Kyle Trask.....Thoughts?

Good intangibles, a bit raw. I mean the guy didnt even start on his own highschol team. Showed massive jumps. Dont think hes quite ready. Hes athletic too. Got a ton of upside. I like him more than mac jones. Im actually a rather big fan. I think hes gonna be good.

ive seen, and agree with the josh allen comparisons. If im comparing to allen, hes taken bigger growth leaps than allen did in college.

But again, what allen has done is just unheard of. Josh allens meteoric rise is like saying ,”well brady was a sixth rounder”....not quite but its not even close to the norm or likelihood. Also again, speaks to josh allen and that coaching staff.

There appears to be five quarterbacks getting 1st round buzz here. You have Trevor Lawrence, Zack Wilson, Justin Fields, Trey Lance, and Mac Jones. Kyle Trask is being projected as a second round guy, but we could very well see him sneak into the first round. Keep in mind that Daniel Jones was originally projected as a second round guy and he got drafted over Dwayne Haskins jr. in the 2019 NFL draft and a top 10 pick.

My two cents at the moment is:

1. Lawrence (Jaguars)
2. Wilson (Jets or whoever goes into that #2 spot)
3. Lance
4. Fields
5. Jones

I can see Fields being the 5th quarterback off the board, and Jones being the 3rd quarterback off the board.
I wonder how many will bust? I think at least two,if not 3. Jones does not look like starting material, but we know QBs are over drafted every year.

Although I don't think he is NFL ready, at least he has been in a pro-system.
NE needs a QB and I'm thinking they are not going to get what they want via trade or FA. They will have him available and I don't know that any of the draft QB's are NFL ready.

I think there is some QB talent at the top of the draft, but there are really only about 5 NFL caliber prospects in this whole draft and thus they will all go in the first IMO. Even Mac Jones.

I think there a few. There also are a few hidden gens i think in this draft. There are a few guys i like....Right now, with covid season and such theres alot of unknowns. Think the final draft boards are gonna change alot. The media and fantasy juts are generally wrong, alot. I point again to the jacob eason love last year, search him on this forum, guys were lovvvving him.

few guys i think the pats should look at.

Eason definitely has that 'big arm' you want but the fact that the Colts aren't even considering him is pretty telling. The reality is that the people who actually know whats going on with QBs have sat down with them and talked Xs and Os.

I remember the 'draft comps' from major sites for a lot of the top QBs. Sam Darnold's comp was Andrew Luck. Jimmy Clausen was Philip Rivers. Patrick Mahomes was Jay Cutler. Dak Prescott was Tim Tebow. Heck, Bill Bellichick drafted Ryan Mallett.

Drafting a QB is about as reliable as partying with strangers. Odds are its not going to turn out like you think

For right now I have:
  1. Lawrence: Has all the tools you can ask for in a QB just needs to work on overall consistency. There are times Lawrence has made some bone head decisions, miss open throws, and not make the best read while pressured but more times than not he make the right plays in these circumstance
  2. Fields: He has all the tools and I believe he's going to be good but he really needs to work on getting through his reads and not holding on to the ball. As a starter in his two years he has average almost 3 sacks a game (near 100th in CFB) while playing behind the OL at OSU.
This may explain that problem.

And judging by this article Fields may have eidetic memory! He was able to recall a play, Nagy went over with him, perfectly despite only hearing it once, a couple of months beforehand.
