Almost all players in the NFL are playing for wins.
There might be a couple of players with the super contracts that cash in, but most are playing for their lives or next contract.
I dont think anyone is blaming the eagle players on the field.
Love the fact that Kelce had that video before the game & stood behind it (so to speak) by being one of the players that had to be held back. A stand up guy in my book!

But if you think the book on Hurts has been written I suggest you think again. He needs to see as much of Hurts as possible as they are going into a huge offseason with regard to the QB position. And as we are seeing with is recent performances Jalen needs all the game reps he can get. This is not like protecting Aaron Rodgers from injury, Hurts needed to play as much as possible.

Yeah you're right I don't know if they were really that concerned about picking 6th instead of 9th or whatever. It was more like the coach was indifferent as to whether they won or lost. And it might have flown somewhat under the radar if it was a 1pm game but it was made especially disgusting by the fact that it was the national prime time game. Maybe it's me getting old but for some reason it annoys me when teams take this macro approach to managing/coaching. Football players have short careers and I've heard many players say at different times that it is a big accomplishment any time you are part of a team that wins an NFL game.

But to avoid situations where the draft pick order is a deterrent to winning they really should just break it into playoff teams and non playoff teams and do a lottery system for the non playoff teams. And I'd give them all the same number of ping pong balls whether they won 1 game or 3 games or 6 games.

we have to agree this was an organizational decision, and as bad a coach as Doug is, he is definitely taking some bullets for just following organizational orders to lose the game

but now you have a coach hated by his team, most of all the only 2 QBs on his roster that belong in the NFL. I’m sure Nate Sudfeld loves the guy

Yeah I agree. Posters made solid arguments when they pointed out how the Steelers pulled a lot more than just their QB, nobody is suggesting picks be stripped from them for not trying to win.

I think it's clear that Pederson wanted to get a look at Sudfeld in real game action, I mean he told people that was his plan. So why is this so shocking? As I said I think they need to look at Hurts more than Sudfeld. Regardless Doug wanted a look at Sudfeld for a reason, I think that is telling that they are taking a hard look at the QB situation in the offseason.
