Alex Schiffer: Shamet said he played a lot of pickup in the fall with Kyrie Irving and Kevin Durant in California. Likes how they’re unselfish and able to play in space. He adds he’s been thinking about how he’s able to play off of them.

Are we sure he is talking about the same Kyrie?

Teams around the NBA are projecting Pelicans forward Brandon Ingram, Celtics forward Jayson Tatum, and Jazz guard Donovan Mitchell to agree to maximum-salary contracts with their respective teams not long after free agency opens, according to Marc Stein of The New York Times (Twitter link).

Ingram's maximum salary for the coming season will be $27.3MM and he could earn up to $158.3MM if he signs a full five-year contract. A four-year max deal would be worth $122.2MM.

As for Tatum and Mitchell, neither player is a free agent this year, but both are eligible for rookie scale extensions that will go into effect in 2021/22.
The value of Tatum’s and Mitchell’s contracts will depend on how much the cap increases for the ’21/22 season. A 3% increase would result in a total value of at least $163MM over five years. That number could go a little higher if Rose Rule language is included in their new deals and they make an All-NBA team in 2021.

Lakers would have to be a sign-and-trade bc Atlanta can offer a lot more money but his suitor list could be dwindling if teams with cap space decide to use their money on other players.

The Lakers must feel like there's a path to getting him, but I don't know what it could be.

Kuz and McGee would only get Bog a salary of around $12-13M. He probably wants $15-16M but maybe he would accept a little less for a contending team. The only way around it is throwing in another salary or signing KCP and including him in some kind of deal. It will be interesting what Pelinka's thoughts are here

Sounds like Freddie is going to get a Brogdon type of deal in Toronto 4/$84...they are looking at Tristan Thompson, who is Canadian, to replace Gasol and/or Ibaka.

Considering that he played well for the Blazers last year...I wouldn't be nearly as opposed to him being a Laker as I would have been before that.

For a veteran scorer off the bench, they could do worse.

He's accepted his role in the NBA and can now be productive as a result.

If true Brooklyn can’t offer him the full MLE $9.3. He would be accepting much less

Yeah, it's definitely going to be interesting. I read an article where he said that they have no intention of standing pat. They were going to be as aggressive as possible in FA. Looks like he's being true to his word.
