Yes he is hurting the team but remember who gave him a contract and who makes the line up. It is not he alone responsible for this mess. I believe Oder does his best but he simply is not good enough for the contract he is given. A man can do no better than his best. Oder imo is not capable of what we want of him.

If we don’t sign at least 2 high-quality, high-dollar FA’s this off-season we will be nothing but cannon fodder for the Astros, A’s and Angels and maybe even the Mariners. What would you think about signing Cruz for 1 yr. Would not cost much and may help till something can be arranged to acquire FA help. This team is in big trouble and any help is a start.
If we’re going to spend we need to be looking for more than 1-year rentals and I don’t think Cruz would be that cheap. I still think our biggest needs that won’t be filled by our minor leaguers are 1st base and LF. Put Calhoun at DH, Solak at 2B, IKF at 3rd, Elvis at SS, Santana in CF and Gallo in RF. Sign Ozuna and Rizzo for LF and 1B on 5 year deals and McCann on a short 2 + 1 deal. My bench would be Heinemann, Odor(untraceable), Tejada and Trevino.
