juat saying what Matt Joyce said, he mentioned the owners had done really well since the last agreement and the owners kept all the extra.
Not calling you a liar, but wonder if you might have read something wrong. I'd love to see a quote from any player that said they ever wanted their salaries tied to revenue. Seems most equate that to a salary cap since that's how it works to get the cap in NBA and NFL. and I think most know MLB players are against a cap.

I'd really need to see the X and O's of the offer.

That said the players are jackasses for not wanting a salary cap. Sure the top one percent probably takes a pay cut but everyone else would make more in all likelihood
agreed, but you know what else might be the holdup? There are owners who would be against a cap, as well.

Is it really necessary for you to reply to like 8 different comments that were part of the same discussion?

I am not dismissing anything. But some on here seem to be dismissing the players’ side totally because they can’t comprehend being in that situation.

I don’t think baseball is happening this year and it will be because the 2 sides won’t agree on money. And I do see both sides. Just arguing the players because most here don’t seem to get that.
Is it necessary? Nothing anyone does here is really necessary. Made a lot of comments as I came in late to the party. It's not hard to overlook them if you don't want to see it. Others do this (including you) on various topics, including this one, and I didn't get bent out of shape over it.

I get you aren't a fan of anyone disagreeing with you...and you especially don't like it when they have logic and reason to refute what your opinions might be.

I think anyone who dismisses either side completely is not looking at this rationally. There is a reason they have a CBA in sports. They try to come to an agreement both sides can live with. This is a different animal as no one saw this coming so they need to find a solution on the fly.

Might baseball not happen? sure. But I doubt it's money related if they don't play. But they have had strikes and lockouts so that is possible.

Baseball has its own unique structure though.

Players under team control end up playing on very team friendly deals, and vets end up getting overpaid.

A salary cap would probably end up hurting a lot of vets. Depends on how it was structured though. Because today some vets end up not even getting contracts as teams go with younger cost controlled options.

Your latter point is what I'm getting to

Make a minimum amount a team has to spend. Baseball is screwed up with its deals.

Yep the high spenders and the owners who are welfare cases

Neither are good for the overall product

That might be the biggest problem with baseball. NFL and NBA owners seem to agree on what's best for the league. whether they can get it from the players a different story.

MLB owners cannot even agree among themselves on whether they'd even want a cap if they could get one.

Have a feeling you did not hear him correctly. Players we know don't want a cap and they think salaries based on overall revenue is a cap (because it is).

Have the restrictions been loosened enough that they aren't violating them?

No they haven't. The state says stay at least 3 feet away from people if possible.

lol, just 3? it's still 6 feet out here in "Zorroland"...

had to say it. miss making a monkey outta that clown...:heh:

Maybe I said that wrong. The governor here says 6 feet between people is the best. But if that can't be done stay at least 3 feet.
