This is the problem with politics when it comes to professional sports. Politicians want the millions and sometimes billions in revenue they generate for the city but they hate putting up any money because “public money” has become a bad word.
No doubt...and rightfully so.
The new model seems to disguise the public money in a travel/tourism dress with a hotel/airport car rental surtax. At the end of the day the owner should be financially invested (significantly) in any new stadium and I don't think Davis approached OAK in that manner.
