I've inquired about the other receivers and I think the price is too high for them, so I can't even imagine what the price for Hopkins is.

Never felt he was in my price range based on other negotiation. ....

Same here. You seem to really like your WRs and Hopkins IMO is your best. Don’t believe you have ever mentioned your top WRs in trade chats or in your posts. The opposite if anything.

Bell was the only decent RB ever brought up in offers for Hopkins, and turning those down from both @Bandit and @HaroldSeattle proved to be the right call on my end.

But I also get it, i wasn't moving him on the cheap just to move him, an RB1 always had to be the meat of the deal, which no one was putting on the table (that I can recall).

I'm not sure you could ever get a RB1 for a WR1 with anybody I play fantasy football with. Would be an interesting question of how far down the running back list you would have to go for somebody to actually make the trade straight up for Hopkins. I'm really just curious. Not holding anybody to this, but how far down your running back list would you guys go before you would make the trade straight up? Obviously everybody's list is different, but however you have them ranked, how far down your list would you go? For me I definitely would not trade any of the 1st 7 straight up for him. I might for Aaron Jones, Mixon, or Jacobs depending on my roster, and I would certainly for Fournette on down.

Saquon
Zeke
McCaffery
Kamara
Chubb
Cook
Henry

Aaron Jones
Mixon
Josh Jacobs
Fournette
Gurley
Ekeler

Well, I'd have to have two startable RB's left after the deal, or, honestly, there are NO RB's I'd trade for a WR straight. But assuming I had 2 guys, I felt reasonably comfortable starting at RB1 and RB2, after trading for Nuk...
I think I'd start thinking about it after Kamara. Chubb, probably, Cook? Yeah, chances are he misses 10 games next year anyways to make up for those he didn't miss last year, Henry? Probably not. Mixon? Probably not. Jacobs? Mehhhh... Fournette?, yes, Gurley? hell yes, ekeler? please try and stop me.

But I do gotta say..going into this last season..I wouldn't have dealt DJ for him straight up either

I've come around on the WR longevity in dynasty, coupled with the high miss-rate of so many WRs that get 1st rd ADPs in rookie drafts for fantasy, I hold the top WRs in similar regard as the top RBs.

Prob only Barkley, CMC, Zeke for me. All the RBs in your 2nd grouping for the right WR. It also would all depend on the unknown variables of current roster construction and win-now vs rebuild of the teams involved.

Think I've proven I'm willing to overpay when I see something I gotta have as well in all of our various leagues when things line up properly.

and just to clarify, wasn't expecting a straight 1 for 1, which is hardly ever the case in any dynasty deals, regardless of position

Well I'm not gonna lie, he did tell me that he already won the league with this team so he had no problem getting rid of guys and he wants picks for next year because both Travis Etienne and Trevor Lawrence will be coming out next year. That applies to everybody except Dalvin Cook that is. He's not coming off of him.
Well I shot a couple of, what I personally would consider somewhat lowball offers his way, including his Clemson boy Renfrow at least and other young dudes thinking if he's considering building a new team, young dudes would be a decent option over Julio being the end of his prime--not just flat out repulsive lowball offers, but, sounds like he's not ready to move Evans or Julio at all either

Man the Texans are just getting destroyed over the Hopkins trade as they should be. They got less for him that the Ravens did for Hayden Hurst!! Bill O'Brien is a freaking moron.

Indeed! In the past I took the criticism of him with a grain of salt. No longer. He got hosed in the trade badly.

I'm still of the opinion DJ can be an all pro level producer for a few years. If he turns in some big seasons, it won't be so terrible. But yea, I get where everyone is coming from

I mean that really doesn't matter though. It's no different than drafting a 5th round guy in the 1st round of fantasy. If he performs as a 1st round pick, that doesn't mean you made a smart decision, because you still could have gotten him later and used your earlier picks for better players. It's all about perceived value. Look what the Bills got for Diggs and Hopkins is a much better receiver than Diggs is.

Technically, no it doesn't matter. But, 1500-1700 yards all purpose and double digit TD's will numb the sting, wether it was truly worth it or not. I'm sure if Herschel Walker had done anything in MINN, that deal wouldn't be looked back at as so terrible either

Trades away Clowney, Hopkins and doesn't get a single 1st round pick in return, and the best player he gets back is a 28yr old RB that hasn't been effective since he came back from season ending injury 2yrs ago and is on an expensive contract

RB, the most replaceable position on offense that the league in general has proven time again over the last few seasons, DON'T PAY BIG $ FOR A RB.

he's in over his head being HC and GM for the Texans, no other way to look at it unless they win the division again.

OK- So I got a TE. I think I am ready for the season whenever the NFL is ready.
Trade with my ol' partner. He gets Sony Michel, Burkhead and 2021 round 2
I get Austin Hooper, Chris Conley and 2021 round 3.
another good negotiation with Lefty- Thanks.

Yep - it took us awhile to get there but we did get there. ..... still not sure what to think of PAT's with Brady moving on but what the heck. .... some hard negotiations but a pleasure as always.
