Yes, let’s just go back to the preBCS days and not have championships decided on the field.

I want 14 team conferences to drop divisions, have 3 permanent rivals, the other ten teams remaining are put into two pools of 5 that rotate every year so every player will play every team at least twice and play at every team’s stadium in conference. You take the top two teams and have them play in the conference championship game. Let the committee decide who the top 4 teams are. We don’t need to cheapen the college season and we sure as hell don’t need to drop the conference championship games because we are afraid of having teams play because we need to give more teams participation trophies.

You are the one who wanted to ignore head to head game and cry about Baylor’s OOC schedule and cry that TCU was the better team. Did you hear me say shit about Oklahoma and Texas last year? You have never seen me bitch about Michigan State losing to Wisconsin in 2011 (other than that flopping soccer player Wisconsin called a punter). Winning your conference should mean something. If doing away with the conference championship is what it takes for that to happen then I'm all for it.

As it stand now however, this weekend's games mean almost nothing.

It's more like how to ruin college football if you go to 8 teams and here's the reason why. The regular season in college football is sacred because week-to-week the games carry so much weight. This creates the excitement and drama from fan perspective on television. Because any ONE loss can cost you a coveted position in the 4 team playoff. But once you anoint conference champions plus a couple at large bids, then the drama is lost when you can afford to lose 2-3 games a year but all you have to do is win your division so you get a chance in the CCG. You're effectively trading the drama of an entire season for some drama on conference championship weekend. You need to really think through the excitement of how college football's regular season plays out before you go and destroy that.

So if you beat 4-5 ranked teams during the season and slip up against a 7 win team who lost 4-5 GAMES during the season. That 7 win team goes to the playoff and is one of the best 4 teams in the nation...I just don't like that logic but tbh I don't like when a non conf champion makes it. Still don't think it is the most important factor.

It's why we need a super conference, it will solve everything and be a lot of fun.

Then you should be good with the idea pick the 4 teams from the 5 CCG winners.

If we have an 8 team playoff, what game last week really wold have mattered? If any? Bama would be in regardless, along with Ohio State, Clemson, LSU, and Georgia.

It would come down to Utah, Oklahoma or Baylor, and maybe some B10 team like Wisconsin if they upset Ohio State. We'd get 2 to 4 teams in coming in off a loss. Great playoff system Champ.

People want an expanded playoff, but we already have one. It is called "WIN YOUR FUCKING CONFERENCE". You know, just like the NFL.

Play the first round at home of top 4 seeds and all games would have mattered. Even more than they did in the current format. How about you tell me how much OSU/UM mattered? Or even LSU/TAM? We know OSU and LSU are in CFP if they win their CCG even if they lost this past week.
