He did go through a slump, but pulled out if it and hit .298 over his last 47 AB and hit 4 HR in that time.

Most folks probably just remembered the slump when they thought, "see, I told you so" and never paid attention again. lol
Ha I knew that he finished strong but perhaps it was his second wind. They played him a lot.

Of course I would rather him him start over DDJ. A lot of possibilities at this point

When was the last time we had a true CF start there for a full year? We have had a lot of CF conversions like Gallo, DeShields, Desmond, and Hamilton. We have had some true CF play there part of the year like Martin and Borbon. Who was the last true CF who played there all year?

I thought Martin played a full year but surely don’t have to go back to D Hamilton

You are right about Martin. That lost season, 2014. He played there a good bit in 2013 as well. That 2014 season may be the only one like that since D. Hamilton though. Seems like there was one more who played under Wash.

One year of Borbon there and then it goes back to GMJ.

Daniel's and other officials met with Rendon yesterday.

Game on.

According to three major league sources, Daniels headed a contingent of Rangers officials who met face-to-face with free agent third baseman Anthony Rendon and his representative Scott Boras in Houston Sunday. While no contract offer was made, according to the sources, the Rangers were there to make a presentation indicating their interest in the top position player on the free agent market.

Daniels doesn’t comment on free agents. Boras could not be reached for comment Monday.

Sources: Rangers meet with free agent 3B Anthony Rendon, Scott Boras

We have an open slot. And would not be surprised to play the waiver game with the Reds reliever

Also from the same DMN story:

Daniels is also believed to have met with free agent pitcher Zack Wheeler recently. There is a growing sense in the industry that Wheeler will agree with a team before the winter meetings begin in San Diego. Wheeler is being heavily pursued and is likely to get a deal of at least five years, but if he makes a quick decision, it will either allow the Rangers to wipe starting pitching off their priority list and focus on Rendon or allow them to move on to their next pitching target rather than face a protracted negotiating process.

Either way, it appears the Rangers are willing to spend big this winter. Rendon has already received reportedly received a seven-year deal in excess of $200 million to return to the Washington Nationals. Wheeler is likely to push $20 million a year on his contract. The Rangers have already agreed to a three-year, $30 million deal with pitcher Kyle Gibson, pending a physical.

I wonder if Rendon has wanted to play in his home state all along, and maybe this thing could get done by the end of this week.

Best wishes to Profar. I hope he gets his career back on track in 2020.

How ironic that him and Kinsler are on the same team again.

this might be a dumb question, but I don’t really follow the national league.

is Rendon as good as beltre was? How excited should we be about this if it actually happens?

Rendon's last three years saw him with the following OPS: .937, .909, and 1.010. The three years before coming here Beltre had put up the following OPS: .784, .683, and .919.

what’s the point in bringing Rendon in if they’re still planning to keep / start Odor?
