Michigan fans this is what I felt like during the Carroll SC days. We just weren't going to win. Fortunately for us they hired Kiffin, then Sark then Helton. Maybe Day will go to the NFL and OSU will hire Kiffin. If so you'll be fine.

Pretty much. Michigan's good, but OSU is historically good right now.

and that doesn't even include the 2019 team, which I'd imagine would be one of the greatest S&P+ teams of all-time

if you go by SRS, this is the best Ohio State team since 1973 (and the 3rd best of all-time). in fact, SRS has OSU head and shoulders above LSU and everyone else in the country. I think they're also in the top 20 among all-time NCAA teams in SRS.

Oh no doubt, this is a great OSU team. It's probably the best OSU team I can remember watching. OSU has been awesome since 2002, with the expected dip in 2011 given what happened that off-season. Even Cooper had a great stretch from 93-98, he just couldn't beat Michigan enough. They are on another level this year from the rest of the B1G. And I don't see it slipping next year despite losing Young and some other great pieces.

Harbaugh needs to recruit better than he has if he wants to compete with them. Or develop those low 4 star, high 3 star guys better. He also needs to try to get to the last game against them with a chance to win the division, especially at home. Would some added pressure help Michigan? I don't know, but perhaps. He did it in 2016 and 2018, but had to go into Columbus.

agreed, that's probably the biggest issue for Harbaugh. the recruiting's been good, but it feels like it's settled into a tier below OSU's. I think Brown did a damn good job this year assembling a defense with the pieces he had, but the interior defense is pretty undersized and got horrendously exposed by Wisconsin and OSU. we need bigger defensive linemen. the interior was a problem last year too and then Solomon transferred.

Yeah...WR group will be just as good/better next year. QB, obviously. RB, Teague looks capable of replacing Dobbins without much drop off. OL, as good/better. DL, losing Young will hurt, but hopefully Harrison becomes the next household name. Other losses there, too, but we rotate enough that we should be ok. LB, as good/better. Secondary, probably the biggest drop off, but we've recruited well.

Did you see his chart for Florida State? They spent 14 straight years in the top 5.

I asked that guy to make a chart overlaying the similar post-CUM years for Utah and Florida. That way, we can see what's coming for OSUx.

The year after, Florida won 7 games. The year after up here, OSU is ranked #2 in the nation.

LOL I have a feeling the post-Urban years at OSU are going to make your anguish spiral hit new depths.

Meh, I used to also bitch about FSU when they'd cruise to the NC game in a shit conference.
What a jilted ex who is still in love. If you cared about shit confidence you would have mentioned the ACC but you didn't.
You should just thank that Buckeye for what he did for you and move on.

Not at all. OSUx's success would only illustrate what an average corch CUM was. At UF, he had overwhelming talent from Zook's OL and DL and a once-in-a-generation player in Tebow...and still managed to fuck up in '09 with that idiot hire Addazio.

How sad it must be to know that an "average coach" is the best coach in your program's history.

More crazy talk from you, nothing new though. If the Gators had "overwhelming talent from Zook" why did they win only 8, 8 & 7 games when he was the HC?

It's hilarious you still have insane issues with Meyer all these years later.

:pound:

So they were freshman for 3 years? That's why they couldn't win double digits games in any of Zook's seasons? As long as you believe that that's all that really matters.

yeesh. I love mgoblog's analysis, but stuff like this is just unnecessary. the online class thing is just dumb. it's sanctimonious crap like this that makes people hate UM fans.
Oh wow, that's a really bad look. Are they saying that maybe Fields was spared from injury not walking to class? That's some of the worst sour grapes I've seen in a really long time.

Yeah, welcome to 2019....

Also, so are they saying an online MBA from Ross is a waste of $116,000?
