Funny thing is the consensus thinks he got the right punishment, and some of the talking heads thinks he should've gotten more.
and i think thats most of our point with him, his arguments are all over the place, hence me saying the goal posts are slinging left and right. I cant' even address him anymore, im done there, its like the old convos back in some eagles threads.

So you think in the heat of the moment Garrett wouldn't say anything back at Rudolph while the melee is going on?
You're acting like a homer with an agenda.
No....I'm saying I don't know if it was said, but it certainly COULD have been said there with no one else hearing. Refuting those who keep saying others would have heard.

You sure are trying to justify it without any justifiable evidence.
I'm looking to justify what? If you are talking about Myles' actions I have said even if Mason used a slur Myles should have been suspended for a long time.

Yep. I’m more interested in his agenda than anything... claims to agree with the consensus yet is exhaustively trying to justify Myles. It’s like watching a blind gardener try to trim a bush with a plastic butter knife.
so far, nothing we have heard whether it happened or not justifies Myles' actions.

I need to do a study to find out if those who are irrational with an agenda have a propensity for lacking in comprehension skills or enjoy making stuff up.

Here, I'll agree with you, especially considering the last time this happened on the field, it was a 3 game suspension. Games 3 and 4 of the preseason and game 1 of the regular season.
I think Garrett bringing up the slur accusation my have hurt his appeal. I'm think they felt he just lied to them in the process, and said fuck him, if he's not going to be truthful.
I don't think so (the last part). I don't think it helped nor hurt. Also don't think if Mason said it (which he might have) would have helped Myles.

your're comparing things, that are irrelevant to each other. and perhaps it is, but if thats all your're gonna do, then lets join the party. i havent wavered, you can try and say i have all you want.
I'm comparing suspensions that actually took place. You are comparing a hit by a helmet and a gunshot.

I wouldn't call yours moving the goalposts, but if the former is so is the latter.

i think garret would, if something was said they both would be jawing. Just my opinion

i missed wht post this was in regards to.

i cant figure it out either, its all over. But when you question it, he tells you, that you are all over. my brain hurts.

last time though, correct me if im wrong, there was no contact, doesnt change causation. but there was not contact IIRC
I'm all over? I've been consistent the entire time. No matter what Mason did Garrett went way over the line and deserved a long suspension.

wondering about the NFLs inconsistencies in their punishments is not moving the goal posts or all over the place.....or being a homer.

Saying you know what happened when you don't (and not saying that was you) is being a homer.

Yep. You got it

I @SteelersPride concede defeat to @dtgold88 . He is wiser, brighter, smarter, sexier, and just a downright better human being. He has outwitted me at every turn. I will step aside from this argument to save myself any further embarrassment. :suds:

Well... I don’t know if it’s possible to do a study on yourself without being biased, much like your agenda. But I’m sure we’d all be curious & eager to hear your results!

Why should we concede he called him a racial slur?
Let's say he did. Don't you think he'd address that to the two Pittsburgh linemen escorting him away from Rudolph?

IMO IF Rudolph said a slur Myles would have yelled this out as he was pulling on Rudolph's helmet. He would have said it as he was being moved away bu the linemen, he'd have said it as he full swung the helmet into Rudolph's head.

Is it possible a slur was said? Yes. That said, odds are 99.9% no slur was used

You're missing the point. If Garrett is saying he went crazy because he was called a racial slur in his mind he is justifying his actions. Fuck that. I said we should concede that he did hear that slur and put it right back in his face that so what if he did, that does not justify your behavior.

The problem is we have people saying, yeah he deserved it, he called him a n***** and if someone calls me that I'd hit him them too. No, no, no no no. That shit should be nipped in the bud.

True. marring the reputation of another man in a feeble attempt to regain some allusion of dignity is a childish endeavor. Mason already did enough to destroy his own image. I would have respected Myles for simply owning up like a man should. Because like all of us agree, it doesn’t matter if it’s true or not.

I still take no issue with the season long suspension what I take issue with is the unprecedented direction his punishment seems to be heading

Donte Stallworth and Leonard Little both had DUI manslaughters and stayed employees. The fervor behind this is pretty extreme.

Maybe you can be the first to find a specific comment I made that showed I was a homer or had an agenda?

First off, I will allow some wiggle room in punishments, given the 10 and 20 years gaps in time..respectively. Stallworth got a year suspension in '09, which is up from Little's 8 game suspension, 11 years prior.

From the NFL's perspective, I think an on-field incident such as this, could be more damaging to their product than an off field incident, regardless of the disparity in severity. Millions of people watching it live vs. stuff probably only real fans even hear about. The fervor is just part of the age we live in. Everyone's gotta be outraged about something, all the time, and in fairness...this was pretty outrageous.

Given all those factors, I'm not sure if it's a precedent, or just normal evolution of the times and the game.

I think "indefinite" could actually benefit him, as it could be earlier than some may suspect.
