Now that we've fucked our season up, I might as well go even more into homer mode
Well, I'm just telling you what's happening.
I definitely understand where the writer of that article is coming from, and absolutely do not think ANYONE should forget about the abuse victims over anything going on. BUT I don't see a reason in ending a season for players that were 10-12 themselves when all of this occurred.
They don't have to end the season. But every coach involved should be GONE, IMMEDIATELY.
They don't deserve to play out the rest of the season. The team will do fine without them.
If I'm the school prez, those guys can't coach for me. They are STILL WORRIED about their legacy, and winning ball games.......that's what I don't think you get right now. There is STILL NO CONCERN FOR THE VICTIMS.
It's all about Paterno, winning a few more games to pad his bogus record, and leaving on HIS terms. The sheer arrogance of this reeks to everyone outside of state college.
They have to go. RIGHT NOW.
Yes. Fact is, Joe could end up in legal trouble. After seeing and hearing his bullshit, I wouldn't feel the least bit sorry if he did at this point.
Did Penn State's Joe Paterno break law in Jerry Sandusky case? - Michael McCann - SI.com
To date.....there has been NO support for the victims. It's all about HIM from his own statements!
The sheer arrogance here is appalling. Is there a parent alive that will send their kids to play for these people???
They are COMPLETELY out of line and can't see it. The Governor or SOMEONE needs to force them all OUT.
Did you type that without reading the statement?
"STATE COLLEGE, Pa. - I am absolutely devastated by the developments in this case. I grieve for the children and their families, and I pray for their comfort and relief.
I have come to work every day for the last 61 years with one clear goal in mind: To serve the best interests of this university and the young men who have been entrusted to my care. I have the same goal today.
That's why I have decided to announce my retirement effective at the end of this season. At this moment the Board of Trustees should not spend a single minute discussing my status. They have far more important matters to address. I want to make this as easy for them as I possibly can.
This is a tragedy. It is one of the great sorrows of my life. With the benefit of hindsight, I wish I had done more.
My goals now are to keep my commitments to my players and staff and finish the season with dignity and determination. And then I will spend the rest of my life doing everything I can to help this University. "
I guess we read different statements.
