It is really hard to tell if you are joking or not. I know your accessment of my stance is a joke. I just don't know if it was intentional or a complete failure to try and understand what I have wrote.
How many contracts and extensions have gotten us in trouble one way or another. Five for Cole is plenty. I do not want to get hog tied with another Odor, Fielder, Choo and perhaps Leclerc. Fine with paying market price for Cole or Rendon but risk's can bite you as they have more than once so care should be taken as to how far you stick your neck out.
Okay think of it partly as a joke. We just have differing views on the path we should take.
I would love for us to sign Cole, Rendon and Abreu and not ever be financially hamstrung afterwards. I just know it isn't going to happen. I do exercise some degree of optimism in how I think the future will unfold, but there is a limit to my optimism.
Pence is all but history. You know the story with Choo and Willie is here for awhile.
The problem is they won't trade Choo, so it is hard to get rid of someone else and then lose Choo after this next year. You would be making room for Choo and then have him leave also a year later. They could trade Choo, but they can't stomach paying a big percentage of his salary while he plays elsewhere. They are stuck between a rock and a self-designed hard place.
