The lack of meritocracy makes me sick.

Remember when the front office unnecessarily demoted Calhoun to keep condor and odor up here? I think it was right before odor hit 5 years of major league service time and he could no longer be sent down. Calhoun was outplaying both condor and Odor. They pissed Calhoun off for no reason.

I also never understood why we can’t just bench odor. He’s playing like a minor leaguer right now. We probably could’ve brought up some guy from the farm to do better. I’m glad that we have solak tho, so there’s an undisputed viable alternative.

At the highest level of the game, terrible play over a long period of time should have consequences. In other organizations, it does. I’m starting to question if it does here. I really don’t think too many other MLB teams would’ve put up with, turd polished, propped up, and defended odor this long. We’ve given him millions of chances at this point.

We might as well root for him to bottom out. This thing needs to be resolved.

We can keep him on the team as a bench guy or role player if his personality and work ethic really are as big as people say. The one thing this team doesn’t need is him playing 150+ games a year.
