Hopefully, Allatd learned some lessons. Games like that are as much of a part of the maturing process as games where he looks good all the way through.

Burke is pitching the night cap. Might have to check that one out.

Exactly. Hard knocks can provide lessons not found every where.

Why don’t we just see how Solak performs up here. Looking forward to it. There may be someone else. Even a guy like Santana.
Are you willing to give him as long of a look before judging him as Odor has gotten?

If it is too early to judge Odor, Mazara, and Guzman then even if Solak starts every game we have left it will not be nearly enough to judge him.

By the way, I think it is a little too early to judge Guzman and maybe even Maz, but those three guys are some of our most recent prospects that you have not seen me making excuses for. That is because they have all.been given everyday play for an extended period of time. When guys don't get that chance I will mention it because it is very relevant.

Can Allard, Palumbo and Burke be good enough for the next 6 weeks to convince the Rangers to count on them for the Opening Day roster next season? Would they count on all three of them?
probably Allard makes the opening day roster. I think Burke and Palumbo will eventually make the roster next season but not opening day

from now thru the next season it is time to look at all our prospects like Solak, White Taveras etc.

Trevino's 1st-to-3rd dash key to Rangers' rally

“At the end, it was kind of fitting that the catcher who has caught 11 innings goes first-to-third with two outs on one of the best right-field arms in baseball, and makes it,” manager Chris Woodward said. “The infield single wins the game because of it. If he's only at second base, I don't think they even try to throw that ball. There's no reason. They'd just hold it, and we may still be playing. But the fact that Trevino did that speaks volumes for what we preach on a daily basis. For a guy who caught 11 innings to do that is pretty impressive.”

Trevino's 1st-to-3rd dash key to Rangers' rally

The Rangers also won because rookie left-hander Kolby Allard stayed strong despite allowing seven runs in the first two innings. Nine of the first 13 batters he faced reached on seven hits, one walk and a catcher’s interference. Allard found himself trailing 7-1 with one out in the second.

“Obviously, we didn’t come out of the gate like we drew it up,” Allard said. “When you have a first inning like that, you can either roll over or keep battling. I didn’t have my best stuff, but I gave my team everything I had.”

The Rangers were ready to bring in Phillips Valdez before Allard suddenly pulled himself together. He retired 10 of the next 11 batters, allowing only a walk in the fifth inning that was quickly erased by a Calhoun double-play ball.

That got Allard through the inning while the Rangers were slowly mounting a comeback. Allard and five relievers did not allow a run over the final nine innings.

“I was really impressed with Allard,” Woodward said. “Going out and getting his butt kicked in the first inning, going through a little adversity -- which I didn't want to see, but I saw it -- and you see how he responded. ... He just kept attacking. [He] made some changes after the second inning, and you could see the difference; the results were better. It's pretty amazing to see a kid like that not get rattled.”

I actually don't think Maz has been that terrible. His stats this year are decent and some still ride his butt. And you are right that Guzman needs more time for us to throw in the towel on him. And we have time. We need to see what we have so we can sort thru what we have. And in regards to Solak I have a feeling he will be in the OF. But I would like to see him play some 2b.

It is probably too early for Taveras. He is most likely at east a year away.

maybe but we might find out that he is a 1000 times better than DDJ
I like chocolate cake a lot better than most things cooked in the oven, but I don't want to get it out of the oven before it is done. I don't think Leody would pass the toothpick test just yet.

Probably true but I would rather see him or Granite or Thompson or JPM out there next season than DDJ

Hell I'd rather see Santana out there than DDJ. DDJ is another Odor

Maybe we see a combo of Gallo, Heineman and an offseason pickup.
