This is a failed attempt to bring back the glory days of Dodge. The Dodge division should just stop jerking people around and build a special edition Daytona Charger with the wing then this monstrosity. God-awful ugly.

Relive NASCAR's Glory Days In This 2013 Dodge Challenger Daytona

I'm torn.
It has all the qualities of the original. I liked it, and I didn't like it.
And I couldn't tell you why.

I know what you mean, its like the proportions are off it is just too short of a car to begin with. They should have stretched the frame and made the body closer to the original and charged 6 figures

The original Daytona/Superbird the wing and nose are cartoonishly large.

The new one just looks like some Fast and Furious bullshit.

The reason that wing is so high in the back is because the thing is mounted to the top rear fender with the trunk lid between the two vertical portions of the wing.

Had to make it high enough to open the trunk. It really looks stupid to me and I've always hated them for that reason. The pointed beak front end looks equally stupid imo.

Well Bayou Tiger despite your distaste for that car, it won Richard Petty a boatload of races because as he recently described it, the car was so stable it seldom would spin and get out of control because the wing created such downforce and stability that he could could run nearly flat-out on the turns at many of the tracks. This is one reason NASCAR banned it along with the Hemi. It was a decisive advantage to Ford and Chevrolet.

I have emailed the CEO of FCA and told him to re-open Plymouth and bring back just two models, Big Ken. The base Satellite/Fury that gave us the GTX and Superbird among other variations and this car: The Plymouth Barracuda. I told him in the email that this car will sell if they update it with a hellcat redeye. Good grief what are they waiting for?? What a badass car!! Sox and Martin killed a lot of Chevies and Fords at the drag strip with this original badass!!

A big ole WTF moment. The original had and intent and purpose which was to win in NASCAR. This is just a failed exercise of some designer.

Had a girl friend in high school, her mother had this 1969 GTO Ram Air 4.
No pwr steering.
No pwr brakes.
HD clutch/4spd

I got to drive it once. It was a beast to handle.
It needed some attention, but still ran just fine.

I look back and wonder why her mother bought this car.

This looks just like it.

Apparently the expressed merger of FCA with Renault is still pending. If it goes through, FCA/Renault will become the third largest auto maker worldwide. This would be a good move for FCA seeing that both Fiat and Renault are mooching off the production and money that Chrysler has built with their success of the last 8 years or so. Unfortunately the French government that owns 15% of Renault is bulking at the deal. Dumbasses. They should sell their shares of Renault and then allow the newly merged company to do a deal with Michelin to provide rubber for all the FCA/Renault cars.

I had a 1970 Coronet 440 Super Bee for about 15 years. One of the strangest automobiles I've ever owned. It had different type threads on the tire lugs depending on which side of the car it was on. The passenger side had left handed threads.

In the back dash were factory installed 6x9 speakers. On the driver's side the speaker was mounted with the long direction going from one side to the other, yet on the passenger's side the speaker was rotated 90 degrees, where the long side ran from front to back.

There were other odd things inside the car's dash and how the car shifted into and out of gear.

Car was pretty quick for those days. I'd probably be scared to drive it today though....handled horribly, took forever to stop and was rather bouncy!
