I guess my Dad had a mid-life crisis. He traded in the family car, a boring tan Oldsmobile, and we ended up with a 67 GTO. It had a big 8. I remember it was the first car we ever had with seatbelts. My sister and I couldn't get our parents to wear them, but we always did.

He died a few years later of cancer. My Mom had the car, but it had an engine fire and they totalled it.

I think that most people like certain cars that had to do with something in their childhood. A connection of some kind.


When I was 10yrs old, my cousin got a brand new 1970 GTO. He would take me driving around in it and I thought it was the best thing ever. This picture could actually pass for his car.

Another cousin had a new 1968 GTO.
Pretty bad ass really, looking back.

When I purchased Panzerwagon I also purchased a 4 year Zero deductible warranty from Lubrico.

Today the warranty expired and because I never used it once, I get another 4 years of coverage for $150. I've used them 3 times previously and never made it through without a claim.
