well, in fairness, they do this because they have to per the CBA....the CBA that also gives them a cap and max contracts to work with.

I think that the next time the CBA comes up for renewal a good bit of it will change.

Will have to disagree, I don’t think it can be said that conspiring to force a way out 2 years before your contract is up should be considered honoring your contract. Do whatever the f you want but do it behind the scenes. Going public is not honoring your contract, no way.
serious Q as I don't recall the details.....was Davis the one who went public?

I agree in part with this, but, as others have also pointed it, he eliminated the Pelicans from negotiating with any other team but the Lakers.

I also stated, it should be done in private. No reason for anyone to know about it.
while I agree with that it's best to do it that way....not doing so is not dishonoring the contract.

I just hate what they did to Boston. You should have zero say in where you get traded. His agent making comments that he made is unacceptable.

“They can trade for him, but it’ll be for one year,”
"Did to Boston"? Isn't that helping Boston by warning them?

In fact I think it should go down the way you said it should. You made a claim they shouldn't be able to ask for a trade and now you are backtracking and saying if done right it's OK.

Simple as that.

I modified my opinion with an example of how I perceive would be a fair solution for both sides.

I’ll never agree with someone trying to bully their way out of a contract, penalty free.

ASKING to be traded but saying you will honor the contract as long as you are there is "bullying"?

And again that's the point. Yu don't need to tell me this as I'm aware you are not part of the Heat with inside info.

But thanks for letting me know.

Many here foolishly throw around the word guarantee, etc.., and are totally wrong.

You get it's the team ACQUIRING the player who has to pay the extra money? And they know this when they make the deal. Don't want to pay it? Ask him to waive it or don't acquire him.

Im not sure which side pays it, or if its always one or the other.
Regardless, if current owner is getting screwed, then at least he/she should be compensated.

If it applies I'll say it.....maybe instead you'd rather I tell someone his/her comments are retarded?

You argue poster and not post and I don't try and stop ya.

You be you.

We forgot about ‘you argue the post and not the poster’

Too funny

what are you talking a bout?
I replied to you saying players get paid if they are hurt or suck. They are paid because it's in the CBA. Like it's also in the CBA that their wages are capped.

Can't say I'm 100% sure , but pretty close it's the team acquiring him. The kicker is added to his salary and of course the new team pays that salary.

Its not true.
Were you bullied as a child?
Not bullied as a child. Not retarded. Maybe you could also play the overused "you never played the sport" card?

Hard to believe you know what bullying is since you think ASKING to be traded but saying you will honor the contract as long as you are there is "bullying"?

But, yeah, it's true.

Not bullied.
Maybe low esteem?
No self confidence?

Or just argumentative?

@WiggyRuss gets it way worse around here, and doesn’t whine about it.
