I'd say he moved on just fine. It isn't like he sat there and got in a yelling match with him. He stared him down, and then proceeded to kick the shit out of his new team. Loved it.

Great....Cleveland fans should like it when they beat a divisional opponent. We disagree however with BM's antics and responses. We'll see if he's actually 'moved on.'

Meh. If our QB is going to be a dick to a guy like Hue Jackson, I'm completely fine with that. It's a lot different than flipping off your current head coach who was lobbying for you to get a new contract.
I don't disagree. But one guy making a bigger dick move doesn't change what he did. The staring down in and of itself isn't really a big deal. But be smart enough to not sound like an idiot when discussing it after. Just say I just got caught up in the heat of the moment and was trying to fire myself up for the game and leave it at that. I think sometimes the biggest problem some of these kids have is just knowing when to not say anything at all

Of course Pete said that and I believe he was trying to work a new contract. But ET watched all the other guys get paid and or the rest of the LOB discarded. He saw the writting on the wall. There wasn't going to be the kind of $ left that he felt he deserved. He also watched a couple others go down with season or career ending injuries.

OBTW PC and John Schnieder mutually agree on contracts for the Hawks.
You have to be fair. You can't criticize one guy and make excuses for the other. Sounds more like Pete Carroll hate coming out

What other guys? Richard Sherman didn't get re-signed. Chancellor and Baldwin are gone, though obviously because of retirement. But what other guys got big contracts from Seattle?

And that's fine. Again, coming from a fan of a team that's had some of the most feckless QBs over the last decade, I love seeing a QB that has some moxie and fire. It didn't hurt that he did it to a pathetic clown like Hue.

You're not wrong, I see where you're coming from. My point is just that Baker gets labeled as an ego problem while nobody says anything like that about ET at all.

And this is why the media can pretty much collectively eat shit. I think I mentioned it in another thread, the majority of media members are absolute clowns anymore. They're more concerned with stirring up "controversy" than actually bringing pertinent information to fans.
Don't I know it man.... Same shtick year after year, but getting worse and worse. Sports Media only cares about attention & exposure. Clicks & viewership. Just look at all the disreputable assholes that they pull out of retirement to give interviews to about controversial situations. The producers know what they're doing. Adding fuel to the fire, not helping to extinguish it. If it doesn't demand attention then they don't bother selling it. You even see it with the talking heads that they employ. Crass individuals that sell terrible viewpoints & analysis, but it doesn't matter so long as they bring attention to the table. The more cracks in the foundation of an argument the better.

And there's also the problem of overexposure & too much info. Because it creates a race for media outlets to be first, doesn't matter if its truthful. No accountability either. I love to bring this video to this discussion every time but it speaks to so many levels of this discussion...

Man that video is 100% spot on. He put it perfectly, and that's a major, major problem. We've seen countless stories just in sports that require an editor's note or even a redaction based on incorrect information. It's an absolute joke. It's why getting your information from the talking heads in the media make you probably dumber than those who just don't even pay attention at all. Look at Skip Bayless - he's making a living off of being a contrarian and saying stupid shit constantly, yet people pay attention to him because he's so outlandish. The standards the media has set for itself in this era are an embarrassment.

Bobby Wags the year before.
KJ Wright.
Rasheem Green.
Tyler Lockette.
Baldwin even though he retired after the fact.

Oh yeah and a little guy we like to call RW just to name a few.

Wasn't the public perception that they dismantled the LOB? Of course they had to sign some players but they also shipped off Bennett

It was but that was partly based on some of those guys getting long in the tooth, $ they wanted and becoming a cancer in and out of the locker room.

Agree on all counts. It is indeed embarrassing. I just wish we saw more redaction, or at the very least some form of accountability. People like Ian Rapoport shouldn't have a job based on the amount of misinformation they produce. Those kinds of people are just weasels. And how they continuously trot that Rapoport schmuck out in front of the media as a reputable source is beyond me.

The outlandish people on those debate-type shows are more understandable because those shows are more about biased opinions than factual evidence, to support debates. I simply don't watch those shows because you know what you're in for when watching that crap. The polar opposites unite to drive those discussions. Still embarrassing nonetheless.

Well Bobby Wagner didn't get a new deal, and it's a point of contention for the organization. Green signed a contract for under $1m a year. Baldwin signed his contract in 2016. If that's what he's dwelling on, that's completely on him.

Also, if he doesn't understand that QBs eat first, then maybe the NFL isn't right for him anymore.

From me? I can't stand PC and not condoning what ET did. When your leg snaps like that you're not thinking rationally.

I remember back in the day when ESPN had "The Sports Reporters", the roundtable discussion show on Sundays. It was awesome, because it was respectable guys that were giving informed opinions. Now it's basically devolved into Jerry Springer-level trash. It's a really, really sad day when TMZ is a more respectable sports news source than ESPN. Never thought I'd see the day.

I'm not here to argue Seahawk contracts with you.

ET was part of the LOB that brought Seattle their SB. He watched others from the LOB getting discarded while new younger guys were getting contracts on both sides of the ball. I'm sure he understands QBs eat first which is why he saw the writting on the wall that there were only going to be crumbs left for him.

Stop deflecting this is about your boy being labeled a punk and deservingly so.

lol yep... Remember that show well. Its rare to find a neutral media outlet that focuses on factual evidence & sound opinions. They may start out that way, but at some point it always devolves (as you say) into the muck to compete for viewership. I like GMFB most days, but even they can get annoyingly off-based sometimes. The Herd (w/ Cowherd) is a good show. He's definitely opinionated, but he's much more informed & factually sound than most.

Very sad state of affairs anymore. It's all put on the viewer to be able to collect enough of their own facts to form an "informed" opinion. You do yourself an incredible disservice by forming opinions based off one source.

Lame. ET is pissed because he thinks he's not getting a contract so he flips off his super-supportive head coach and that's fine, but Baker is a punk for staring down his former HC who was a cancer on the organization. Stupid take.

I remember the time when I wouldn't miss Sportscenter in the mornings. I probably haven't watched it in over 2 years. GMFB is pretty solid, I'm a big fan. NFL Network is pretty much the first thing I turn on after the morning news, and I have it on now because they're covering training camp and their reporting is stellar.

I don't know that you can look at ESPN or even Fox Sports and expect a ton of substance anymore, depending on which show you're watching. I still like ESPN's baseball coverage, but it's dwindling. Sad, indeed.

Are you really going to keep defending the actions of a spoiled brat punk? It's not like this was an isolated incident for your boy.

Yes ET was pissed before, during and after he broke his leg because he wasn't getting a contract he felt he deserved with his level of play, SB, multiple pro bowls, DPOY contention.

Cleveland was a cancer long before Hue. You can't blame all your decades of frustration on him.

Baker's a punk everyone but you seems to realize that.
