Good for him, I guess. Seahawks GM never would have given him that much guaranteed, even before the infamous middle finger incident.

Ravens need a WR and Lamar to improve throwing the ball.

Those 2 things happen and they can be dangerous.

Don't hand the division to the Browns just yet

For sure they need weapons but they lost A LOT on their defense, a lot. Still need to beef up that defense.

Thomas is probably the best safety Seattle had (although Easley has to be considered), but I'm glad we didn't resign that. All the other safeties receiving roughly equal money are younger (by 2-5 years) and haven't dealt with major injuries over the last TWO seasons.

Glad Seattle passed on this one. Our issue last year wasn't secondary play. It was the horrendous D-Line play in stopping the run and a journeyman crew at linebacker (with exception of Wagner).

D grade, Ravens. They're obviously banking on the cheap contract of Lamar Jackson (LOL - a separate fiasco all together) for the next few years and clearly overpaid an aging, injury prone (albeit great when healthy) safety. I can't give this an F given Thomas is a top 2/3 safety when healthy, but given he's 30 and injuries have piled up over the last 2 seasons, I can't give this a high grade.

We are signing Mark Ingram to make up for Jackson's lack of passing ability...Like both signings but will have to see if Earl can stay healthy and Mark can carry Buckwheat....I am a little encouraged at least....:hope:

Ingram is a good pickup and good player but we will see how he plays in Baltimore, big shift imo. He went from a pass happy team to pretty much the opposite, being able to throw the ball down the field definitely opens up the run. Baltimore has a great OL so it shouldn't matter just interested to see how he does.

But, but, but

I thought he was going to Dallas.

Oh please. Anyone believing a player in terms of where they want to play is ignorant. With almost all these guys there's a general philosophy (and it's one I'm totally fine with):

"If the cash isn't there, I do not care."

In addition, the Ravens have Mr. Soon to Be Injured Scramble on the cheap for the next few years and because they have an even worse QB than Dallas will need every resource possible on defense to compete. Dallas has to resign Dak 'the stutter step cowboy' Prescott after this year.

Earl may still be in his prime physically/athletically, but he is no longer in his prime from a durability perspective. Played 96 straight regular season games his first six years but has missed 21 of his last 48. Keep him on the field and it's a good signing for the Ravens. But I question whether he can stay on the field.
