You must be a super scout with your knowledge of NFL talent. Why hasn't a NFL team or top college team hired you yet.

Oh, wait a minute, you were clueless on wentz until the draft. I guess your pre draft magazines weren't high on him at print time.

Speaking about these magazines, can you enlighten us on their predictions?

I’m not. But I do know what I’ve seen. I have to go back and look at my mags.

No, I just said the military doesn’t help advance yourself like college does. But I have said I’m classist and it isn’t right. I told them you are MUCH better off going to college. That’s not a slight at the brave Americans who are super patriotic... it’s just the truth.

You are completely clueless on the miltary and its education programs.

An 18 year old kid can go into the military and learn LOTS of real world skills AND earn money/get grants to pay for a degree when he/she gets out.

Let’s say they stay in for 4 years... now they are 22 years old. They start college and finish when they are 26. They are now 26 years old, have a lot less debt than someone who went straight into college AND they have real world skills that employers are looking for.

Also, they have access to medical benefits thru the VA if their job doesn’t give them medical or they are out of work.

You’re the dumbest “teacher” I’ve ever come across

The kid who has a degree made 280,000 while the other kid was in the military. Tell me what real world skills you get in the military? I’m honestly curious.

The average college graduate makes 70,000. That times 4 years in $280,000

Bwhahaha.

Liar!!

Fresh out of college kids are making 70K a year?!?!

You’re such a fvcking liar!! They make nowhere near that FRESH OUT OF SCHOOL!!

Oh.. and whatever they make is taxed, they’re repaying student loans (with interest), etc etc etc

Oh... and as for those “real world skills” don’t take my word for it... read it for yourself.

but you dont graduate straight out of high school.
So if you use the military to get an education. you are still waiting 4 years (or however many for whichever field)

I think it’s better to take college loans and when you graduate you will make a lot more. You lose several years of high earning going to the military. What career are you better off going to the military for then going to college. I can’t think of any.

Are you serious? Who would you hire at 22 y/o?

A college student, likely not working or working a part-time job for 4 + years while they get their liberal arts degree, accumulating debt and student loans as they go, receives their degree and walks right into the work force making top $. Is that the fairy land you're speaking of? At some point they should pay back those loans which goes right against any earnings they may be making.

Or a service member who gets paid to receive training in whatever field cook, admin, mechanic, IT... earns a full-time check while doing so, is productive in society while not accumulating debts, maybe gets a degree as well. Walks into the same workforce 4 years later or goes to college without being a burden by taking on loans they'll never pay back.

I know who I'd hire.

A lot of people use the military to afford to go to college. so why not have both.
straight up one vs. the other I would say it depends on what field you want to be in.
I had a disagreement with a guy who said he joined the ARMY just for the education. He was bitching about the WAR as a soldier. I simply asked where in the Oath does he SWEAR to go to school.
The military is a great place to get your education. Not only do you get free education, you are also defending this country. A lot of our young military men and women join just for the education then see it's a great way of life and serves a purpose and stick around for 20 to 30 years.

OK, I'm going to bite on this one.

Going into the military will quite likely allow you to mature enough to be ready to learn when you do go to college and you do not necessarily have to wait until you get out. You also won't have to go massively in debt for the degree that more likely will pay you $60k/yr. Very few get $280k because they went to college. Most big money comes with time and maturity. I did very well by going into the military. I recommend it very highly and still do to this day. I'm also proud to serve those who serve our country.

One other advantage for young men who choose to serve - they get good life lessons from honorable men and women, while those impressionable young men and women who go directly to college get brainwashed by liberal teachers who prefer anarchy over our country. I have hired and fired many men. I have found no better employees, no better leaders, than those who served.

College grad Engineers are worthless for 5 years. They carry a clipboard and count parts while doing OJT.
Military Engineers have been trained to be leaders and are placed in decision making capacity almost immediately.
By the time they have worked 4 years they are way ahead of their non-military counterparts.

You make like 18,000 in the military and get college assistance. Let’s say you go to college. The average college grad makes like 70,000. You’re missing out on 280,000 which will easily pay for college and a lot lot more, especially if you start off at community college

Once again you're full of shit. You should really educate yourself educator.

A brand new E-1 in the military makes just a tad under $20k. That's just base pay. It doesn't include any bonuses they may have received. It doesn't take into account any incentive pays or hazardous duty pay. It doesn't take into account room and board with or without dependents. It doesn't take into account free medical, dental and very reasonable life insurance. Free tution not just tution assistance up to a batchelor degree. Free gym access...

Your walking into a $70k job is mainly fantasy. Look at these numbers. These are the TOP earners. Again you're full of shit educator.

How much did that kid make while he was in college? Oh was he in community college? So he only accumulated a small debt. Yet this same kid is walking into a $70k job? You're full of shit. Give this arguement up. You're getting educated by a bunch of us uneducated fucks.
