He's a guard that can't shoot in a league that's increasingly based on spacing and shooting.

Does Ball have other virtues? Sure. But at the end of the day... a guard that can't shoot is a ginormous hole in today's game.

Sure... they got a glut of picks... if they draft right... sure.

Aside from the top pick, though... (which they already had)... they don't have any sure thing, and drafting is a lot of missing and luck.

I'm pessimistic on the "haul" New Orleans got.
exactly--- Bell will never be anything more than a solid player until he can shoot 65%+ from the line and 34%+ from 3.

Ideally he is at 37%+ from 3 and 75%+ from the free throw line like a normal guard. If he can get to those numbers he would be special---- but with how broken his shot looks, i just seriously doubt its possible.

That is likely how it turns out, but they had no other options, nothing to lose at this point. Their last years team was one of the worst in the league, so it can't be any worse off.

I will change my opinion if they land someone else, but as is they still aren't a championship team
I could frame the trade as great for the Lakers or bad for the Lakers.

Good- they pair LeBron James still near the height of his game with another top 15 player and still have about 30 million in cap room

Bad- they sucked for 6 years and end up trading almost every asset they had to sign a 34 year old LeBron James and trade for a guy with 1 year left on his contract that said he would sign there in free agency anyway.

If Lebron or AD get hurt they aren't even an 8th seed tho

Pretty big gamble

If?

If Embiid and Simmons get hurt and Butler signs somewhere else they're in the lottery too.

If Giannis and Middleton get hurt the Bucks miss the playoffs too

If you had half a brain cell maybe youd be a much more pleasant person

What's with the if bullshit?

When the cavs gave up Kyrie, that haul of Clarkson, Nance, Zizic, Cedi and Sexton was better than what Boston got. Boston got 1 year and a worse playoff record, then lost the guy. NO starting lineup looks pretty good tbh...

This is a better trade for the Lakers than the Pelicans. The lakers now have a 26 year old elite level all star whom will be good for the next 10 years and now have made the lakers a more attractive destination for free agents.

Welp the Lakers are great again they will soon sign veteran players on the vet minimum contract like they did in Miami If Kyrie was smart he should take a pay cut to go play there or take whatever they were going to offer Kemba. The lakers are probably the best team in the west right now with the golden state warriors facing all these injuries.

2 of those first rounds picks arent going to mean anything, Morant and Barrett will be off the board by the 4th pick so idk who they will draft they better make it count. I also dont see Lonzo or Ingram staying in NO when they contracts are up
if they make the NBA finals i think they will be glad they made the trade

if they come up short of the finals i bet they wish they would have waited.

Yeah except Lebron is coming off an injury and is 35 and AD is very injury prone, so it's a little different

The reason you are so angry is because you are ugly inside and out lol

well they would need to re-sign randle which i doubt htey do.

I think that if they let Randle walk, and find a taker for Solomon Hill they can make a move in free agency. Itll be itneresting to see the way they go.

they have plenty of extra picks to trade--- even 2nd rounders like they got for Mirotic.....They can manuever and make cap room or make smaller trades, or bigger trades.

They could move Lonzo again or keep him.

A lot of options---- but starting with Holiday and Zion is a great place to start. Ingram is much better suited to be a 3 then a 2--- and who knows- they could still bring in another player.

If Zion is good right away they might be pretty decent. We shall see.

And yet every GM in the league would ride Courtney Love bareback for the chance to have both those guys on their roster

You're magnanimous in victory toward the Pel's.

Personally, I think Ingram is fool's good... which colors my take on the trade.

Ingram is a poor man's Durant... which is not as cool as it might sound. In order to make ISO ball work in today's game, you need the absolute top ISO performer(s)... a Durant, a Harden: that level... and Ingram is not at that level nor is he ever going to be at that level.

That's JMO... my take on him.

Actually, I genuinely think the Pels are going to be fun to watch. Zion, Lonzo, Ingram, Holiday, maybe Randle...that team is going to play at light speed. I just hope Lonzo and Ingram can stay healthy for them.

Disagree about Ingram. He was playing at an all star level when he got hurt. I'm not saying he'll be as good the guys you mentioned, but if he can stay healthy, there's no reason he can't be an all star caliber player.

Ingram is Harrison Barnes with handles.

Good skill set, not a #1 or 2.

I remember when someone on this board said that Ingram was better than Kawhi (his last season in SA).

Wait a minute. You mean to tell me that if a star player on a team gets hurt, that it could fuck their team up?

Is this true, @msgkings322 and @CitySushi ?

I have no clue how it will turn out.

I just know that after 7 years without winning a playoff game- and trading 2 uture first rounders--- they are able to put a 35 year old Lebron on the court with trading for Anthony Davis with 1 year on his contract and Kyle Kuzma- and thats it. After 7 years and all the draft picks and clearing of cap space and different front offices, what is left after 7 years of not winning a playoff game is:

-A 35 year old LeBron James
-Anthony Davis on a 1 year contract
-Kyle Kuzma
-no first rounders in 2021 or 2023 (most likely).

Oh yeah, that was you. I think I told you to light yourself on fire at one point iirc.
Actually what I said was I would trade Ingram straight up for Leonard and you have to admit that would have been one hell of deal for the Lakerss:lol:

Kiz fits better for 2 big reasons.

1) he is the better 3 point shooter
2) he makes a lot less $ and gives the Lakers more cap space

Leave it to you to be rational.....LOL.

Dude.

Who cares about running a City when you can own a whole Country?

Kawhi is not leaving Toronto.... and if he did, I'd question his sanity.

Vast majority seem to think he's gone. But I'm with you. I just can't see him walking away from a chance to repeat.
